His name now reads: AndyMilonakis, MD PhD HO :meanie:

Pardone me if you want the PhD before the MD. I dunno the convention as far as order.
so i'm a ho now?

i don't care what order the degree titles come in. i'm just happy that i have em 😀

What do you do? Are you an M1? I think I had the impression that you were in grad school because you were talking about your basic science type finals. I was going to look through your posts to find out but then I saw you have 10k+.
 Yeah, that's like research in itself.....

I'm finishing up undergrad; waitlisted for med school (TCOM), WAS a DO/Ph.D candidate, been accepted to post-bacc, but am now most likely going to enter my school's forensic program, earn a degree in chem, and go into forensic toxicology. If I get off the waitlist this cycle, I'll probably see med school through and go into forensic path. However, I haven't bothered to apply for the next cycle.

I'm confused. You were a DO/PhD candidate but now finishing undergrad? 😕
I meant candidate for the program, I should have said applicant. 😳

I'm the one confused. 😳

It is SO much better. I really feel like I cannot make it through this year. I really think about quitting sometimes.
You'll make it! 🙂 Plus, you have us 😉

I remember being at that point too. Chin up! One day you will look back at your MS3 year and laugh. 👍

Heh. My M.D. is my first degree. After a quarter of my life has gone by, my parents finally have something to hang on the wall! 😀
I thought you had a bachelor's degree 😕

Anyways, I was thinking of taking the framed diplomas and putting them up in my condo but I decided that would be uber lame. I would rather have artwork on my walls. Plus, I think my parents would be happier having them up on their wall.

The confused part...it doesn't get better in med school. You'll just become cynical and confused.

I am so cynical. I was just thinking today when I was seeing a certain family in clinic about what a mean person I have become. I used to be a fairly nice person and want to help people. Now I just want to go home.

wait...you just started 3rd year and you're already this cynical?

oh woops...i forgot you did a whole IM rotation already. damn, i don't know how i feel about making an MSTP student cynical prior to the graduate phase. that sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

It's a long story. Most things involving me are that way 😉 I'll tell it to you one day if you like (it's so boring you'll probably forget it immediately anyway!)

Same here. I don't think it's going to get prettier the more I look at it. 😀

Are you letting mum and dad have it? I was just looking at it earlier trying to decide which bag to put it in - i.e. whether I would need the original for any administrative reasons in the foreseeable future.

As far as I know, pathologists don't wallpaper their offices with diplomas. (As opposed to say, a surgeon 😛 ) I wonder what they do with them. I should ask.

yes i know.

yup. asian parents need every excuse to brag about their kids when talking to other asian parents. i'm not gonna rob them of this.

i think this is important if you see patients in your clinic. patients may be impressed with the diplomas on the wall. since i won't be seeing patients, i will have no such thing on my wall.

It is a recipe for disaster. Can't you tell that by my posts?

yes.

on another note, god bless the internet. it's so much easier to change addresses for credit cards, utilities, post office, etc all online! all in a matter of minutes!

wah-lah!

Why thank you... I cannot always guarantee a happy cheerful persona though 😉

It is good to have Andy posting too. Where is yaah? I thought his To-Do List for today ran something like:

[X] Eat lunch
[X] Go home

I was about to say the same, and then I picked up the phone to confirm my flight tomorrow and found that I was actually supposed to go pick up a paper ticket. In this day and age of the Internet!! 😡

Thank heavens I called.

no e-ticket?

you could simply go check in at one of those ticket kiosks. that stuff runs on the internet too.

No e-ticket. I'm sure if those were options my agent would have let me know.

I miss having a car 🙁

you should buy one. i heard they're really awesome and totally sweet.

I hear you're losing one 😉
i don't think i'll be driving my cah much. the parking around my condo is quite ample though so that shouldn't be a problem.

spent 3 hours walking around JP yesterday. located some major important landmarks:

(1) T stop two blocks east
(2) Liquor store 1 block north
(3) Cafes and shops 4 blocks NW.
(4) Guinness bar 4 blocks NW and 1 block east...right near the bus stop. I think I know where I'm going after work. 👍

i gotta pack and make a store run for tomorrow morning. on the list:

(a) beer
(b) wine
(c) sake
(d) more beer
(e) even more beer
(f) more beer to add to the already sufficient amount of beer

I am not sure I want that option!
My credit union is like 2 hours away and they want me to come in in person with my paperwork. I am thinking of just closing my account. But I really like their online banking and they don't charge for anything.

I shoudl go tomorrow and give em all pinkeye. :meanie:

i will venture a guess...yaah is with his woman.

I forgot about my other tasks for today - namely pick up my car at the shop, get a haircut, and finish my presentation for tomorrow morning. I am not with my woman. Tomorrow I will.

It's really annoying to her you calling her "my woman". Maybe I am watching too much Jerry Springer.

I know - I was just going with the flow of the quote there. She's not my property, certainly!

I am gonna make hot cocoa. Do I use water, which is not as yummy, or do I use the milk which is 2 days past date but I just opened yesterday? 😕
I go by the smell. AND, the lower % of milkfat, the longer it seems to last past its due date. WHole milk I wouldn't chance, but 2% and 1% milk, I've used past the date and been okay.

But since you haven't been feeling well, maybe water would be better for you. Just in case. 🙂

It was whole milk, 3 days past. I just dumped it out. It only smelled very slightly, but I was not taking any chances. It turned out very well with water. I had the rich chocolate kind, which must have some sort of creamer in it because it really tasted creamy. Of course I used like 3 packets for one oversized mug. Oh man, it was GOOD.

Because Yo told me to drink hot cocoa. And the box reads Nestle "hot cocoa mix". I don't have a real preference for the name. I am a swinger!
*ahem*

I actually told you NOT to drink it because then you would end up staying awake too late!

*smack*

I thought it was you. 😕

Hot cocoa (aka hot chocolate to yaah) usually does not have caffeine.
really? I thought chocolate had caffeine in it...

Well, you're the resident pharmgeek, so I guess you would know that kind of, ahem, 'useful' knowledge.
