Me too... I'll probably do what Ron is doing with the exasperated look twiddling his quill during my chem exam...🙁
My SO was clearing out the backyard today, and found where all the cockroaches have been living...and he found an albino one! It's crazy looking! I've never seen an albino cockroach before.
EDIT: I know it may just be a newly-molted roach, but he thinks he saw it a while ago before he caught it, and it's still bright white. We're leaving it in a jar for a bit to see if it darkens.
Alas, it turned out to be merely a new molt. He took way longer to darken up than we expected, though!
And no, no picture. Several people on here would probably curse my name if I put a picture of a roach up....![]()

Thank you for your discretion 😉
I'm planning to give my parents and my sister each a gift thing for being so helpful in my wedding planning. Already planning on baseball tickets for my parents but I'm stuck on my sister. She's always the hard one to buy for...hrm.
is she a spa kind of person? Free massage/or something else for her and a friend?
#10 has chain hobbles...?
Yeah I read a comment on there that said that. I think that's right....
random phone question - does anyone know if you can purchase SIM cards in the US to use internationally in a phone?
i know that may seem kind of goofy, but in grenada, we have really cheap pay-as-you-go phones that use SIM cards. you basically purchase the phone (or use your own), and then the SIM card comes with the minutes. the phone can be used anywhere in the caribbean and in the US (roaming).
I'm going to mexico this summer for MARVET and since i have a SIM card cheap phone, i'm wondering if i can buy some sort of card to work in it to use in mexico.

Numbers 4, 10, and 25 made me literally laugh out loud.
I'm not the only one who's used mane and tail shampoo/conditioner on my own hair, right?
...I think 95% of horse girls have used it. It's ok.

how to spot a med student at SGU...
if they don't dive into the bushes when you walk by with your dog, perhaps this sort of statement will help you figure them out:
"does this little guy belong to anyone? found him/her outside my apartment complex this morning and he's been here all day. looks like there's some limp with the back right leg."
seems innocent enough. the him/her bit is pretty darn hilarious though. the picture included with the fb post is quite the close up (as in the person was certainly close enough to tell if there were anatomical differences in this pet that could determine the him/her status!)![]()
i poke fun, but my own mother did the same thing earlier actually! she was talking about a lost dog today and babbling on about how she knows all the neighborhood dogs and then said something like well actually i dont think i'd be able to tell the difference between "insert boys name" and "insert girls name." i said really mom? i'd think that anatomically that would be quite obvious! she laughed and agreed 🙄![]()
We were told that one of the top reasons for vet students failing the dog/cat handling exam was because they sexed the dog incorrectly. I don't know if they just weren't really looking or what. Maybe those that failed just assumed no testicles= female or something. I don't know. I don't see how you can sex a dog incorrectly. A really young cat (we aren't examined on cat handling because of their unpredictability) , maybe, but a dog... just wow. But that was the number one reason people failed dog handling exams last year. So, you never know, some people may not be able to tell the difference between "him" and "her"... not sure if that makes meor
since these people are vet students.

Is it something where the question is asked later and they forgot to even look during the exam? Or are they asked while with the dog?

I started using it as a kid and never stopped! Its only normal in the vet field to use horse shampoo for our own hair 😉I'm not the only one who's used mane and tail shampoo/conditioner on my own hair, right?

I need some advice. If I took the summer off and worked on getting my mental health back on track do you think this will ruin job prospects for next summer? I have an interview at the local shelter on Tuesday but I'm not sure I can handle the job right now. I feel better than I did a month ago but I'm still only sleeping 3-4 hours a night and 2 nights ago I had a panic attack. My motivation levels are up a bit but I tire easily and my ability to concentrate isn't back to where it was. I want to be in the best state for the start of second year and finances are not a big concern ( thank goodness for a wonderful engineer boyfriend).
I'm worried if I don't get a job this summer it will affect getting a job in the future. I've always had at least a full- time job over the summer except for the summer I was in treatment for an eating disorder, I worked only part-time. Maybe I'm just doubting my ability to handle the job but I don't want to be at the same mental state I'm at now going in to 2nd year. Any advice is appreciated 🙂

Is this in anatomy or something else? We had quite a few students guess the wrong sex, and therefore the wrong anatomical structure on our repro anatomy exam. To be fair sometimes the genitalia wasn't very obvious or was covered up and some of the dissections weren't the best, but still being able to tell the difference can be crucial.
This was for our animal handling exams. They were live, adult dogs. You had to get them out of the kennel, restrain them for an IV injection (they weren't actually given an injection, just had to show the proper restraint), give them medication (a treat given like a pill would be given) and identify breed and sex.
But that's easy then.
An excellent list of tricks that make life easier! I had a lot of "oh, duh!" moments...
