Why do you keep naming my favorite shows

Also that would not be a good choice if I was trying to avoid emotions...

Because I know you so well and you needed to be taunted.

Fine, go watch The League if you want to laugh

Ha. There's one I haven't watched.

Fantasy football based but it quickly evolves into a shenanigan series where the fantasy football is secondary but still the driving force of their actions. Takes a few episodes but once you get it it's great.

Or you could do Bojack if you have Netflix

Bojack is on my watch list!

If you haven't done it yet after that recommendation go do it now for real it's so good.
I watched like 6 episodes! Right now we're back to Westworld though.

Why won't the Amazon link work? I guess you'll have to copy and paste it yourself without the spaces.

Add that to the list of **** I absolutely do not need but desperately want. Harumph.

I've been stuck in the middle of season 7 for almost a year because I can't move on because I know what's going to happen and I don't want it to.

I have no idea what's going to happen from here on out. My mom told me vaguely about what happened to one character at the end of season five; but I was totally unprepared for the second character and was a mess. Lol. But now I told her to not tell me anything

I am terrible at this and I always have to google because I don't want to be surprised and I need to know if people are okay or not when things get suspenseful hahaha

I'm the exact same way. I know people tend to avoid spoilers for shows they like, but a lot of shows are totally unwatchable for me without spoilers. I get too anxious while watching!

There's actually a study out of UC San Diego which suggests that spoilers actually increase enjoyment because then instead of worrying about the characters you're paying more attention to what's going on.

Not me though, don't you dare spoil what happens

I definitely get too much anxiety during some shows but most of them I don't want the spoilers. Greys is one where I NEED the spoilers (but not necessarily exactly what will happen, just if they end up okay or not) but a lot of things spoilers are a no

Making a mental note for the next time my boyfriend makes fun of me...

Exactly. Too many spoilers can be bad. I'm staying off r/westworld next season because they figured out WAY too much. It wasn't even spoilers, just detailed theories that turned out to be correct. I just want a list of who lives and who dies.

I used to read the last pages of books all the time just to see if certain characters survived. Big event spoilers never bother me, because I'm interested in the journey anyway. Somehow knowing what happens doesn't keep the emotional distress from happening either.

Bet you were the one who told everybody that

Season 6 of Grey's. Can't say my emotional health is stable right now.
Oh man, that season finale was so good. But Bailey's scenes were definitely hard to watch. 😢 And the stuff with Meredith and Cristina in the second half. Season 7 on is pretty solid overall, if you made it through seasons 4 and 5 you're in for the long haul!

I also tend to spoil shows for myself if I'm behind, and I look ahead in books, I get impatient and want to know how things turn out. Even if I read spoilers on accident I don't get too upset, I still like to see how it happens.

I cannot watch something without having read a detailed synopsis first. I've read the synopsis of every episode for a bunch of series I've never even ended up watching. For new episodes I have to read the episode recaps before I start.

Spoilers are great. I've been keeping up to date on all the GoT ones that have come out since filming started.

I think GOT is one of the only series where I love theorizing all day but would fight someone if they spoiled it for me. Most spoilers I'm fine with in general, but things that recolor your first watch through of something or completely change your perception of a character tend to be too much for me.

The best example I can think of is ruining the ending of the Sixth Sense. It's still enjoyable to watch, but if it's been spoiled before you watch it you get the sense that you're not enjoying it in the way the creator explicitly set out for it to be enjoyed.

Yeah. Or Fight Club. That's why we don't talk about Fight Club.

Make sure to not be around me when the episodes are premiering. 😛

Just kidding, I don't spoil it for another people unless it is an accident.

Twists like that are a whole other thing. If it's a good show or movie or book, it should still be good even when you know the twist (and it becomes a whole new experience, picking up on the things you missed), but it does suck to miss out on that first experience. Especially if it's a good twist.

What's entertaining is I'm actually a damned good guesser and have been spot on with a lot of my GOT predictions lol. Either way I hate being told if I'm right or not until I watch the episode.

That's exactly it for me! Something with a twist should still be good if you know about it, but there's something so fundamental about being tricked by a twist in the first place that I always feel like I'm missing out on something great when one is ruined for me.

Shutter Island is a good example too

I have the misfortune of being engaged to someone who is particularly good at guessing twists, and doesn't keep his guesses to himself. Lots of telling him to shut the **** up has happened over the years 😀

I've definitely been kicked out of the room on movie and TV nights before. For whatever reason I had the plot of Dexter down cold from the second I started watching it and my mom and sister made me watch it by myself after I accidentally ruined the season 1 finale for them in the very first episode where Dexter's brother appeared as a side character.

I didn't call the weird lumberjack thing in the last season because I had stopped watching by then and also I'm not that terrible of a writer lol

Lol I stopped watching after season 4 after recommendations from many people to do so. Loved what I watched though.

There were more seasons after 4?

Also I called the ending of S4 while we were watching the finale and was shunned by my household for days lmaoooo

I had the S4 finale of Dexter ruined by a Facebook fan page. Before I started the season, even. Made me mad.
Oh that is a horrible finale to have ruined 🙁
