Another ranking question! Can anyone comment on the level of clinical training and atmosphere at these programs? Which are the strongest diagnostic departments and which will prepare you for the best IR fellowships? Any red flags or extra bonus points you noted?

UCLA, Northwestern, Mt. Sinai-NY, Yale, BIDMC, Wash-U, Stanford

Where do you want to end up?

+1

OP: Your question is too broad.

FYI, Yale has "traditionally" (stereotypically) been thought of less of an IR prep school compared with the others on the list... but, JFH Geschwind is on his way there, so that's probably going to change real fast.

Sinai is not an IR prep school either...excellent fellowship though

Location, location, location.

IR has become competitive and most programs fill internally. Even if you go to MGH or even if you get outstanding IR training in residency, don't assume that an IR fellowship in NW or UCLA is a given.

So for for location.
