Depends what is more important. If getting a job in Miami takes precedence, then Miami is your best bet. If getting the strongest academic job you can is your goal, then you probably want some other programs higher. If your goal is to work at Jackson as an academician, then it's a no brainer to rank Miami first.
I'm interested in academic radiology long term and my top places for residency are
U Chicago
Emory
U Penn
Columbia
U Miami (more for personal reasons than program strength)
Question is how would you rank and is Miami ok if interested in academics or do I put off moving to Miami until later in my career. Thanks to everyone who responds.
U Penn > U Chicago >= Emory > Columbia. Not sure about Miami.
That said, if you want to end up working in Miami, you should not underestimate the importance of local networking. If not residency, you should definitely try to do a fellowship in Miami if you want to end up working there.
