My scheduling timeslot is at 8am on a Tuesday, RIGHT when my chem lab is (for 4 hours). I thought for sure that after it was during my chem lab LAST year I wouldn't have to deal with it anymore! 😱 I am NOT okay with this!
 
I think it's fine that people are allowed to bring their pets to pre-vet meetings. No problem with that. But please make sure your dog behaves well there. It's really annoying when your dog loudly whines the entire time.

At least be polite enough to leave the meeting then so other people can actually hear the speakers..

I need to get in to have my blood work done as well. I'm a terrible hypothyroid patient and haven't been on my medicine in two years :whistle:

🙁🙁🙁 I wish there were something I could do to help you or at least comfort you in some way. Sadly though a long distance hug appears the best I can do. I'll hope this passes quickly so you can get some relief and some rest.
 
Ugh. I just started looking at scheduling, and I'm already frustrated. My schedule NEVER works easily! Can I please just get my last 3 requirements without them all running into each other? And without being in class until Friday? Is that really too much to ask for my very last semester?

Of course, all I need to graduate is one course. 🙄 But then I have to make it a capstone, and I need two more vet requirements...

I just really would have liked this to be easy for once!

I ALWAYS had the 7am timeslot, but my experience from other people is mention it ahead of time and hopefully get an okay to be a minute late, have a planning sheet ready, use a computer in the lounge, and it should work out alright.
Relax--you're about to be a second semester senior!
 
Am I crazy, or is it hard to look away from SDN if there Is a bold thread in the top 5-10 threads.. I seriously have to look at the new posts before I can turn my iPad off. I thought my OCD tendencies only involved our treatment board at work, and the specific colors of SX , healthy, and sick pets.. But I guess the bold threads do it to me too.. Lammmme!!!

They changed it so it's the whole class (all seniors, then all juniors, etc.) at the same timeslot. So last year I had to deal with it during chem lab when it was the first time with the new system--that was fun.

Also, there's 3 sections for two of the classes I need, but overall only one way to get all of my required classes in without them conflicting. Although now I'm doing the fun part: my whatever-I-want class! And for the first time since freshman year, I'll be taking less than 17 credits in a semester. 😀

jkdlsajgk what?!? that's silly and ridiculous. is there only one timeslot a day now? how annoying--I can't believe there are no technology problems with that.


I seriously lucked out and always got good registration timeslots for some unknown reason and then my top third housing number was going into sophomore year when I actually needed it since I went off-campus after that.

Yup. Oh, it took forever last year. I think I got one of my classes and then had to give up and go do orgo lab. 🙄

I try to hide from this thread.... cause every time I come on it it makes me sad... so most of the time I just don't even open it.... I am sorry 🙁

Sorry all of you are having issues.....I would hug you all if I was a hugger.... but instead I can offer whiskey or my dogs Roc & Rain will offer cuddles.... your choice 🙂

My favorite way to do things is by sitting down on the floor cross-legged (is that what it's called?). But my ankle hurts so much when I do that. I might just really go to the doctor soon. I really hate to, but..

I badly sprained my ankle last year and it still hurts from time to time when I sit cross-legged. However, I went to the doctor the day after it happened because I spent all night crying. The sheets on my bed hitting my ankle was excruciating. I crawled from my bedroom to the bathroom. It was the worst pain I have ever experienced (although I've never broken a bone), even worse than when I hyperextended both of my wrists in gymnastics.

It doesn't seem that bad to me because I can walk, run and jump without pain. If I stretch it out too much, then it hurts. Or if I turn it to the side or sit on it.

I usually don't go to the doctor when I twist my ankle because it happens almost every day that my ankles roll and I fall. Sometimes it hurts, sometimes I catch myself quickly enough. Something must be wrong there for it to happen almost every day.

It just usually doesn't hurt this long...

I hate coming home smelling like pigs, i really cant think of a smell that I hate more, and its not like it's a polite smell that goes away after a while, nope that $*** sticks :annoyed:.

:eyebrow: not a huge fan of the porcine bunch but then again I haven't had good past experiences and the ones I work with now try to eat me. Although, i cant blame them too much since I'm usually there to feed them Twinkies... doesn't make the bite-induced bruises hurt any less though....🙄

I don't actually mind that smell as much anymore now that I'm doing research with them. Just kinda getting used to it. And might even work at the research unit next semester, so that smell will be there even more.

Week 3 of being sick...I saw a doctor finally and it's just a upper respiratory infection but I wasn't giving any antibiotics, just an inhaler and told to take Mucinex.

I know they want me to cough, but I really can't take much more of this constant coughing. My back/ribs are so sore from it and I'm worried I'm well on my way to dislocating a rib again. Now I have some serious congestion that I didn't have before and it's making me miserable.

At least I no longer have the fever...

Was hopping on simply to vent that I'm stuck in traffic on a very slow bus route and thus am going to miss the first pitch of the WS! Then, I saw the above...

Twinkies = pig crack! They LOVE them and they're a great way to hide meds. They also love Oreo's and jelly beans, and Fig Newtons, and apples, well, I can go on. I love working w/ swine no matter how I may smell at the day's end (and remember, I take public trans in a big city :meanie:). And to make Chilli feel better, here's a story:

I once was covered in swine from a sx and post-op that lasted 15 hours and ended sadly. When I finally got home I found the water had been turned off in my whole bldg & it way too late to call in a favor. The following day was a repeat and by the end of the day I was beyond ripe (I swear I had swine in my eyelashes!). The doc I was working with felt so bad that he smuggled me into the human neurology unit to shower. Even stole me three towles and some scrubs for a change. One of the nicest things anyone ever did for me.

Finally, all you sick people - please heal! 🙂

^ yep this is exactly it, I work with a research lab that does drug trials, basically we soak the spongy part of the Twinkie with the liquid form of the drug and they scarf them down none the wiser. They will also get to the point where they are willing to tackle and bite you to encourage Twinkie dispersal, hence the bruising.

I've been in that situation and after a day of swine surgery i HAD to rush home and scrub until my skin turned red, if I'd had to live with it for 48 hours I think I would have had to kill my chemoreceptors, nothing else would be a reasonable action (I really hate that smell, can you tell?) :laugh:
 
Trying to do physics hw.. And my computer is acting screwy, so I try to restart it, now it is stuck on the log off screen..GRRR... I have 3 assignments due on Friday.. Plus the physics midterm on Friday, and Repro midterm the same day... Now is not the time for my computer to crash !!!
 
So this isn't really a rant, but the corp that bought the new practice that I'm working at doesn't let us wear fun colored scrubs or polos (we wear polos for appnts). So since they are stifling me so, I now have a giant bright blue cookie monster watch that is a slap bracelet (!!). Take that lame o's! I'll have to hide it when the new practice leader/vet comes though in case she wants to enforce the no fun rules.

They don't make you shower at the barns?

Herbal Essence shampoo works really well to get it out of your hair. (I used the purple one when I worked at a pig farm)
