First of all, happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating today!
Second of all, I am at my boyfriend's cousin's house today, and many of the people here I haven't met before, nor do they know I am applying to vet school this cycle. I heard a conversation just now about how vets are all money hungry cons and I couldn't contain my thoughts so I thought I could come on here to vent. My favorite comments of the convo: "the vet said my cat had tartar build up and wanted 500 dollars for the dental. I said no, I can do this myself, how hard could that be?." And "He was having seizures and they wanted 300 to euthanize him, so I just said screw it, I'm taking him back home to shoot him. Crooks!"
Major sigh. I know this kind of talk is not uncommon but still hurt to hear. I can't wait to see their faces when we go around the table mentioning what we are thankful for, as I will proudly say getting my first acceptenace to veterinary school. 🙄
