At least you don't have to listen to your boyfriend's diatribes.
touche. actually sometimes he'll kind of start, but a quick "listen to you, you're turning into your father" usually shuts him right up.

At least you don't have to listen to your boyfriend's diatribes.
We have our anatomy final tomorrow. I'm so stressed/frustrated/overwhelmed and I've got a really bad case of the ****its.
NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! It's only the first week of NOVEMBER for Pete's sake! (unless you only applied to one school and most of the invites have gone out for that school, you can't get down about this stuff yet! If that's the case though, I'm very very sorry. But look on the bright side, at least that means you have a ton of time to prepare for next cycle.)
I applied to 4 this cycle but one of those was KSU which I really wanted to go to and they have already sent out alot of OOS interviews. I am trying to stay optimistic but why does it seem ever time I get done with apps I just go into "prepare for next cycle" mode?

🙁 i also applied this cycle but it's my first time so we'll see.
good luck!!!![]()
oo good luck!!! although i have to admit that i'm a little jealous that yours is a final simply because i can not wait to be done with anatomy this semester. this class is the kind of torture that evil villains dream of bestowing upon the world!
And I'm flipping through YOUR professor's book in attempt to understand stuff for my 4th anatomy exam (of 5, not counting the final). And I'm thinking, "Good lord, he drew this picture 6 years before I was even born."

the final is everything.
😕
I'm feeling you. Many residencies have an MS integrated with them, so I'm taking about one or two classes every academic semester too. Most of them are resident or at least grad level classes, but they drive me effing insane. I am 27. I am too old to be taking exams. I'm a f***ing doctor. Seriously.

the final is everything.
WTF, whenever you have that display pic up, i imagine every single one of your posts being said by such a person.
And now i can imagine you strolling into an exam (as them) turning down the exam paper, just saying "b*tch please, im a doctor" and strolling out

Everything! And like 250 points. Um, yeah.
First semester finals week was the most relaxed finals week I ever had.
I hate picking on individuals, and I know you guys as students hate that too, but sometimes I feel like it is the only way! Four hours of lecturing students today. OMFG. Don't get me wrong, I like teaching, but sometimes asking for answers is like pulling teeth. Maybe I should start giving candy away for right answersI hate picking on individuals, and I know you guys as students hate that too, but sometimes I feel like it is the only way!

One of our pathologists throws candy. You got candy for answering a question (right or wrong) and for asking a question (a legitimate one). Not going to lie, everyone paid way more attention in his lectures. Our pathologists are all just awesome though, so I paid more attention in general.

I can't throw candy because it's a lab course (half an hour looking at specimens while I help them and then half an hour of lecture going over the lesions, repeated 4x in a row for different lab groups) and there is dead meat on the tableWould be slightly unsanitary.

...this did not stop our anatomy professor from walking into lab one day with a large tree branch full of star fruit, a knife, and a box of sugar which he then fed to the class (and our dead things were just making their way out of the bags) haha![]()
... is one of you conservative!? I have not met/known of any gay conservative ladies before. My mind and assumptions are blown...
Haha yes, crazy right? She's very conservative on a lot of issues, mostly fiscal ones. She considers herself a liberal Republican, I consider her a conservative Democrat. To"may"toes, to"mah"toes 😉 There's actually a pretty decent-sized group of conservative/Republican homosexuals. If you care to learn more, Google the Log Cabin Republicans. There's also a neat documentary on Netflix called "The Elephant In The Room," which shows the judgement that conservative LGBT people face in the gay community. It's really interesting.
I'm just an ally (my best friend and his partner are living in Kansas right now) but this is one of the terrible things about being a "moderate" or fiscal conservative/social liberal right now. It's depressing for me to look at the field of candidates and think "none of you are a choice I can get behind 100%" Just my two cents...Wooo I bet. :O I figured they had to exist SOMEWHERE, but I wasn't any less surprised to hear that.
How does she handle the issue that many of the politicians she might vote for or support are often anti-gay rights? I don't ask that to be snarky, just genuinely curious.
Sunshinevet-I'm sorry to hear how sad you are about missing christmas. As a mother, I can imagine that your own mother feels terrible about it, too. If it's possible, maybe you can "postpone" christmas and go home after exams. I think it's okay to celebrate on a different day! Maybe you could talk to your mum about it and make it happen!
Thanks Bisbee - I definately know that my mum will be feeling it too. She's got 3 other kids but I was the first to leave home and I'm the furthest away, so she sees me least, but we're still really close. It's going to be a hard day for both of us 🙁 There will definately be presents galore and my favourite dinner when I do get home, though. 😍
I am very lucky though that I will be spending the day with my closest friends and my wonderful boyfriend. So its not all bad. Just missing mum especially much atm.
Me too. I quit watching news coverage on it. It's too depressing. One lady here was talking about Penn State's "culture of violence" and I think I heard part of my heart break and fall offI am a proud Penn State alum. Needless to say, focusing on school for the past couple of days has become increasingly difficult. Heartbroken. 🙁

Honestly that is going to be tough. Outside the region, football is the only thing most people know about Penn State. Until people move on from that thought.... then this scandal will remain in the forefront of their view. It's awful. When a place like PSU gets woven into your heart and who you are as a person, this is nothing short of earth-shattering. I just wish people who aren't Stater's can understand that this ISN'T who we are. Still keep hoping that this is some terrible dream that will be gone tomorrow morning.

I'm vaguely curious why that entire story is still about the football coach and his legacy, instead of university sanctioned sexual abuse.

I hate it when:
you wake up at 6:00 am and work all day and its 11:35 pm and your visitors will not leave...😴
I hate it too. You can put it back to the blue layout though!I don't like the new layout...
I am still not adjusted to this time change. It is 8pm but I feel like its 10. No good.
