Truth. Though if they were men in kilts on scaffolding, I would feel safer being at eye level like I am now, rather than on the ground level under the scaffolding. 😉

You all make me wish I was going to vet school abroad!!! It is literally my fantasy to run away with a scots man and live in the countryside with 800 sheep and maybe some pigs.

I was almost headache-less today, but I do want to rant about how tired I am. And I have a 5-page essay that needs to be pretty much done by Friday around lunch. I just wanna go to bed..

I also really need a job for the summer and a new one for the fall. I applied to 17 jobs this week and really hope I will get positive responses - or any response at all. I hate it when people just don't answer. A simple "no" is really not that hard. I don't like having to wait for nothing..
 
I raved yesterday that my favorite dog from the shelter I work at got adopted but it looks like it fell through. All potential adopters have to talk to the vet she goes to for physical therapy about her treatment plan which will probably deter quite a few people. I wish I could take her but realistically I can't afford everything she needs. She's so adorable:

Hedgie, she looks super sweet. I hope someone comes along who can give her everything she needs.
 
😍 TPLO? 🙁

I used to work with a doc that did 3-4 TPLO's a day. People came from all over the south for him to do them, he was awesome. One of my favorite surgeries. We had the underwater treadmill as well. It was a really cool experience to work on them during surgery, all the way up through their therapy. It's made me think very seriously about orthopedics 😍

She's at the Nebraska Humane Society in Omaha, NE. If anyone near the area is looking for an awesome dog come check out Maddie. She loves to play with people and is an awesome cuddler. She'll just lean right on your shoulder and kind of prop you both up. Plus she gives the best kisses. She has the bulldog underbite and sometimes she doesn't quite get her tongue out she just shoves her bottom lip against you. It's pretty adorable.

FHO. She had it done back in November and is still recovering. She's a big girl so it's going to take a while. She's still pretty weak in that hip. It's not as noticeable when she's walking but when she's sitting or getting up she kind of flops around on that side a bit. She's doing really well though. Today she was coming in from a walk and she got so excited about the frozen kong stuffed with treats the volunteer was getting her that she started running around the kitchen area.

Holy thunderstorm phobia. My dog not only has developed random "night terrors" that wake her and me up every night but her fear of storms has gotten realllllllly bad. The Thundershirt isn't enough and Benadryl won't keep her asleep. The earliest appointment with the behavior service isn't for two freaking months! Pretty sure I'm going to demand some drugs now because there's no way i can keep losing two hours of sleep a night to this....

Just say no to pigs Katie (studying about pig husbandry now and it is not worth it - you basically need a top security fort built around them to keep them from spreading diseases, sheesh)!! Although I think I know quite a few nice Scottish farmer boys for you 😀 - sheep are where it's at.

Marsala - my in-laws were absolutely horrible to me when I told them about being accepted to vet school, so I feel your pain. It can be really frustrating when you don't have the support of family. We are still SUPER happy for you!!!
 
Pretty sure BF and I are done come August. Tired of his ****. All the things he's done that I've talked about on here are no longer happening (which is really nice and I'm proud of him), but the way he handles stress is unbearable and I can't be dealing with his awful attitude for 4 years in a LDR. And it's a part of his personality that won't change. He gets it from his mother... I won't even go there! Sorry dude! 😎
This morning:
"Do you want me to make you a cup of coffee?"
"Does it LOOK like I have time for coffee right now? Why do you always stress me out right before a test. You're the worst before tests!"

(He loves to say "always" about things I've literally never done before... and he'll even admit that. He's IMPOSSIBLE!!!)

... after I got up 2 hours early to take the dogs out so he could get right to studying, made him breakfast, never said two words to him (I know how it feels to want to focus), and want to make him coffee.... yeah I obviously suck 🙄

And don't get me wrong, I have stressed days where I just need someone to cut me slack and shut up and leave me alone, but this is how he is about EVERYTHING and I'm not dragging that ****ty attitude into my list of stresses for vet school! 😡
Sorry... I'm done now. I only meant for this rant to be one sentence and look at me now lol.
The worst part? (ugh I here I go again 😳) I'm not even upset. I would normally me sad or mad, but I'm just annoyed and over it. And that's the worst point to reach. When you just don't care anymore and its never worth the fight. We haven't even as much as kissed each other more than 10 times in the past 3 weeks.... :beat:

OTOH - I'm sorry about you and your bf, but I know how it feels to be so done you are just annoyed, and no longer sad/angry. If it is what is best for you, then there isn't really much else to think about.

This might sound weird/harsh/hard/whatever, but I would seriously think about breaking it off a month or two beforehand - or even now, if you've got anywhere else to go. I absolutely understand not wanting to drag his crap into vet school with you (and i fully support that idea!) but I'd be worried about calling it off two weeks before vet school and having it suddenly hit you that its REALLY over and then be dealing with that for the first few weeks/months of vet school.

I guess what I'm saying in a long way is make sure you give yourself enough time. Goodluck with your decision though :luck: Do you get to take the dogs with you? :meanie:

First of all.... do I GET to take them? Oh they're coming! It's been established for quite some time :meanie:

And about the time thing... you are completely right!
We are both mature adults and when I moved here we both agreed that if something went sour between us, he wouldn't just leave me homeless.

I didn't mean I was gonna say "See ya later" to my 4 year relationship the day I leave 😉, I just meant it's not gonna work out anymore. Because yes, even right now typing this, it hurts to know he won't be in my life anymore, but I'm pretty sure it's what's best for me. Maybe we will give it a try because we don't have much to lose, and maybe absence will make the heart grow fonder, but I'm just not holding my breath. The hardest breakups in my opinion are the ones where you truly love the person, but it just doesn't work out. I almost want him to do something terrible so it validates a better reason for me to leave lol.

This will be a great opportunity to start fresh and I'm thinking about taking it. Not to mention, having to go back across the country after a breakup to finish moving my stuff out would be miserable lol.

WLDLFSTDNT - was it you that had your tongue cut by the drill??

Whoever it was, I was SO FREAKIN PARANOID :scared: the whole time they were drilling today. All I could think about was blood squirting everywhere. My tongue actually hurts from holding it to the side so intensely :laugh:

I guess it's a decision only you can make. I sort of feel like after 4 years, if I'm still not sure that you're the one for me, than you probably aren't.
This obviously isn't the same for everyone so simmer down 😉 but he and I constantly talk about marriage and kids, and 4 years later... nothin. He literally asks me when we can start having kids all the time... um where's my ring dude? (again, this doesn't go for everyone, but for him and I, we want to get married first).
Me moving away from everything I have ever known my entire life was a huge commitment to him, and 2 years later, I still don't have that commitment from him. I'm tired of him having his cake and eating it too.

I didn't know you were a singer Emiloo! Very cool!!

I think that with your bf, you have to do what is best for you in the long run. I also think it is easy to get blinders when a relationship is coming to an end (possibly a HIMYM episode??). Suddenly you only see the good stuff and none of the bad comes into play. I was this way with an ex before, and it just made things a lot worse for me emotionally.

Good luck at the dentist.

As for my rant, I seem to be losing/may have already lost my voice. I hate getting sick.

Is this the same bf that was giving you trouble before? He certainly sounds like it! grrrr. I'm sorry about how things are going with you two. Hopefully you will meet some uber hot, brilliant guy at vet school come fall. 😉

That's pretty much my plan 😉

And yeah that's him. He hasn't been doing the other things he used to that I hated, but his attitude is just nasty. 😡

I just moved down to Baton Rouge for vet school (which is a yay that I got accepted, of course!).

BUT THE CATERPILLARS ARE KILLING ME.

There are these caterpillars called Buck Moth caterpillars and EVERY dang day one of my dogs steps on one and limps around for a while. 😡😡

So I was just eating a sandwich that I made. It was melted gouda and turkey on rye. I just bit down on something hard and spit out the bite. It was a STAPLE. A staple in my sandwich. WTF? 😕😕😕 How does that happen? Pretty sure the bread was the culprit, based on how it all looked when I spit it out. Thanks a lot Arnold bread company.

EEEK! That sucks. There have been so many times where I've found something questionable that definitely did NOT belong in any way in what I was eating. It just makes your stomach churn.
