Fireworks, 2 dogs, and studying just don't mix :uhno:
They are driving me crazy :annoyed:
 
My old roomate (aka the ex boyfriend) had something horrible happen to him this morning. His best friend of 14 years died in a car accident. He was 24 years old. I had wanted to get to know this guy... but the roommate had a naive attitude and claimed I would be bored if I spent time with him and his friends. Even though we knew each other for 5 and a half years, I never got to know any of his friends. I am pretty disappointed... I had heard all of these stories about him and never got the opportunity to meet the guy behind them. Now he's gone. And at such a young age... it really hits home when someone my age dies unexpectedly like this. I feel awful for my roommate. He has never had to deal with anything like this. I hope he makes it through okay.

I may be the only one, but I find it difficult when people plaster news like this all over Facebook. I guess some people find comfort in posting this type of news in their status... but personally, I am sick of finding out news this way. Perhaps it is because I found out about a classmate's suicide, my grandfather's heart attack and my teacher's cancer/death this way.

On the subject, Coquette posted about the death of her vet. The name sounded familiar but I had assumed since she lives a ways from me that it was not someone I knew. My mom told me about it when I came home this weekend. That vet worked at the clinic I volunteered at back in high school. She helped mom through our first pet's death a couple years ago. The reason why I did not put two and two together is because I only worked with this vet once or twice during the 9 months I volunteered at the clinic. I feel bad for not having realized who this woman was. I am really grateful that she was so good to my mother when our cat got ill. Mom was having a rough time with the news. The vet was her age when she passed away.

Thank goodness for Xanax. 😀 My dog is leaving me to study in peace, bless her heart. Hope yours quiet down soon!
 
I'm sorry for the string of bad news you've received on Facebook, and especially for this most recent loss.

:laugh: The behaviorist I work with said she had pharmacies on speed dial because of the holiday (for Xanax). She even called to confirm that a pharmacy had it yesterday because she had been prescribing so much.

Of course, these were all her patients (or former patients). Not just random people calling to ask for alprazolam for their pets :laugh:

My family is quite bipolar when it comes to supporting me. So I never know what to expect with them. But the SDN community is great! 😀

I absolutely hate finding out important things via Facebook. When I found out I was accepted to vet school, I was excited and started calling everyone (the bf/vet office/family/friends) to share my good news. Well I told my sister who posted it on facebook before my bf could tell his parents, and OMG, you would've thought the world was on fire. I mean really? They're response wasn't "oh good, congrats!" it was "you're moving away and didn't tell us." Um have I NOT been applying for the past three years to the same school?? 😕

I first called my mom, my dad, and the BF. My parents didn't answer, and I couldn't hold our from the BF, so I told him and about 12 seconds later, he had a post about how proud he was of me on FB.🙄 It was nice and all, but then I had to hear from my parents and close friends about why I didn't tell them before posting it on FB (when I wasn't even the one who did it.... and they didn't answer! ):smack:

Wow, just thinking back to that moment just got me all excited again! What an awesome experience seeing that damn acceptance email was 😍

Sitting in the barn with the horse. Apparently he is scared of fireworks. 🙁 and we live right near the fairgrounds. I feel bad but there isn't much I can do! Even my food bribes aren't working very well. Hopefully they are mostly done for the night.

My BF found out first because he was sitting on the couch next to me. About 20 seconds later, he posted about it on facebook. I had to RUN to the phone to call my mom before she saw it online. Luckily for me, she answered.
Darn facebook.
 
My acceptance was kind of... weird, because I was in another country on a VIDA trip, didn't get my letter, but got an email a couple days after they were sent out inviting me to the reception for accepted students. So I was like 90% certain I was accepted, but totally unwilling to celebrate until I had that sheet of paper in my hand. The first person I told was actually a girl on my trip who I don't really know very well, but who happened to be walking by and heard my squeal when I read the email. :laugh:

When I got back in the country, the acceptance letter was a bit underwhelming, haha, but I still totally trolled my mom, calling and saying "I have some bad news..." She then excitedly posted it on facebook so all my extended family/neighbors/childhood friends knew. 😀 My roomie and bf were both in the room when I opened the letter, so they were the first to officially officially know, I suppose.
 
So we all know my bladder problem dog... she is going in for a culture/sensitivity in an hour, but she has been up for 2 hours now whining like crazy to go outside. I feel terrible that I can't let her out, I'm insanely annoyed at the whining, and I am completely screwed on my two tests today. Trying to study through dog whining isn't working. :annoyed:

Please send all of your luck and animal nutrition knowledge my way this morning :xf:🙄

I just hope that when I die, people would tell my loved ones how they feel about me. Not post a Facebook status update about it.
 
oooooooook so!
I literally just failed 2 exams that I need to pass in order to matriculate in August :cry:

Not in the "overachieving, I didn't get a 95%" kind of fail... like I actually knew 20 out of the 100 questions between the two exams kind of fail 🙁. Some I could SORT OF get through and narrow down, but if I got above a 50%, I am the world's most genius guesser EVER! I am soooooo frustrated and worried right now. All I can do is wait for my scores (which take weeks 👎) and see how I did. There are two more tests in the class and now I have to completely ACE them next Thursday to have any chance of starting vet school in August. I also have to take the sole exam in my other class on Monday. I want to crawl under a hole and cry. All the info was right there, I just didn't study it enough. It is 100% my fault, and it pisses me off.

On another note... my dog has now been thinking she has to pee every 20 minutes. She is not used to holding her bladder that long and I think she may have just gotten another serious bladder infection because of it. She has been following me around since 4am trying to pee, and I had to hold her off until 8am 😱 while I tried to study with her panting and whining. And now she still won't stop :bang:
I am PRAYING that this cult/sens comes back with something I can use a $4/month walmart prescription to keep her on for life, instead of a damn $4 a DAY! Not to mention I just bought 90 of them... (you do the math :annoyed:) that I can't return.
Sorry... Im done. +pissed+

I had my many exams like that (mostly in chemistry 😡). It's over with now. Just take that negative energy and use it to ace your next text. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you somewhat do well. :xf:

My rant: My cat vomited roundworms during the night. No other signs of illness prior, and she sleeps in the bedroom with me and BF because her box is in the adjacent bathroom. Now I'm all worried about larva migrans. We're headed to the vet today and le BF is like "not sure if I can meet you there" which is sweet that he tried, but we don't BOTH need to give up paid time to take her in.

Thanks duuuudes. I'm not giving up, I can't, I'm just annoyed at myself. And I hate that I won't even know the score of my first exam until I've taken all five. It's always easier when you know where you stand. Thanks for the support and motivation guys. 😍
Should hear results on pup in a week or so.

Emiloo, You can do this!! Just make yourself focus on studying, as hard as that is..

See I understood it that the good Samaritan noticed the engraving because of odd or "dangerous" behavior.


What a douche that person is. I just hope that doesn't start to bother the horse.

My rant:
Just made a a vet appt.tomorrow for my cat. 🙁 She's started walking on her metacarpals on both legs now. Last year she had an ear infection and couldn't keep her balance, kept tripping/falling over. She wasn't at my place at the time, so I didn't know about it until after I picked her up. 😡 (housing at the time wouldn't allow pets, she was at my parents for a few months, who were SUPPOSED to clean her ears once a week 😡) But that has been cleared up for a few months now, She's always had a very slight limp since I've had her, at age 2, 10 now. Figured as a kitten she may have had a small fracture that didn't heal properly or something. I got her from a shelter. In the last week I've noticed more of a profound limp.

And today I noticed waaay more angulation in her lower legs when walking. Still weight bearing, doesn't hurt when rotated or palpated. She has been drinking a bit more water, but it's also been really hot the last week.

Really hoping it's something simple and not diabetes or renal related. :xf:
 
My cat was given wormers for roundworms and tapeworms. No evidence of tapeworms that I've seen. :shrug: But then again I missed the roundworms. Found one in some feces in the litterbox while collecting a sample for float. Makes me feel like a bad cat mommy for having it get so bad that she vomited worms.

*sigh* dunno.

You would only be a bad cat momma if you didn't take her in when you noticed it. Or if you engraved "suck it" on her teeth.🙄

If you didn't see any and she didn't show sign how could you possible know? You're a great meowy mommy!! You took care of it ASAP when you found out!
 
The friend who is dealing with the death of his best friend just called me a little while ago. It just wrecked me. My friend is the type who hates talking on the phone. When I saw his name on my caller ID, I knew he probably wasn't doing so well.

I got the details of the accident... and discovered that his best friend had just moved in with him. He is going to be spending the night packing his friend's stuff up.

I do not know the man who died. But knowing the details surrounding his death, looking at condolences online, and watching people I know and care about go through this is very rough.

My mom's family is the WORST about this. We had to find out that my mom's sister was in the hospital with pneumonia (she already has emphysema, chronic smoker, severely overweight) so it was a serious deal, and facebook was apparently how they decided to let everyone know.

*hugs* to everyone's pets 🙁 it makes me so sad to see your rants about them 🙁

Not something you want to learn about on FB. 🙄 She didn't have it thank goodness, but I completely understand what you mean.
 
I miss Minnesota roads.

I love living here, love my job, excited for school this August... but hate Philly roads and Philly drivers. I love hopping on my bike and disappearing for a few hours, which is nearly impossible around here. 2 miles of stoplights. 5 miles of multi-use path. By then I'm so annoyed by aggressive drivers and oblivious joggers that my ride is mediocre at best. I want some empty country roads!!!

And snow. I will be very grumpy if we don't get at least a few feet of snow this winter. Or I will just go to Canada for December break.
 
I am so sick of my stupid finance class! we have to turn in this project today with 8 financial worksheets and a 2-3 page paper, which is really not too bad and I have everything done but the paper. I'm just sick of this class, it all feels like busy work and I just don't want to do it anymore! It is a really easy class and I need the A, I'm just really looking forward to being done with it.
