okay so i think that Google Drive is now the coolest thing since sliced bread (even better than google docs) but something fishy happened between yesterday and today and now i am not so pleased

somehow 10 pages (paper) of virology added into my study guide yesterday magically disappeared. what the heck?! where did it go!! and there are no autosaved earlier versions to retrieve :annoyed: midterms are nearly here, that was an hours+ worth of work. i want it back! 😡

just stick to old fashioned flash/thumb drives and external hard drives! 🙂 i don't trust storing things online......even google docs was fishy sometimes.

I am pretty sure that I had an ovarian cyst rupture during that last lecture. Got the intense pain, nausea and chills all at once, thankfully class are over, on my way home.

Doesn't that sound lovely... Hope you feel better.

I had this really weird moment last night while trying to fall asleep where I basically lost the central vision in my right eye... it was like there was a big, black circle right in the center of my eye, I could see around it but there was no way to see straight ahead. To accompany that my left arm basically went dead... it was heavy, hard to move, but still somewhat functional.. this lasted for less than 2 minutes, but was really scary as hell (same thing happend a few week prior, but it lasted less than 20 seconds and I figured it was just my imagination or I had fallen asleep funny).. mentioned it to the doctor today and she didn't seem too concerned about it since everything had returned to normal...

Well, it just happened again (only lasted for a couple of minutes) but it is really kind of scary... trying not to worry about it since the doctor wasn't too concerned, but this scares me more than anything else that has been going on as of late.

They just called in hospice for my Grandma. My poor mom is losing both her parents in one week. I hate being stuck here with no way to greave or see any of my family.

I feel numb. :lame:

So sorry Emiloo🙁..

The right side of my hamster's ventral side is bare. I don't know if he lost the hair there or if he pulled it out. There are no scratches or chew marks. It started over the summer and was just little patches of baldness. It went away, and now its back, but now it's the entire right side. Really worried..he is eating/drinking normally. I made him an appointment for next Wednesday. Poor little guy, he's getting old🙁..

Sorry Emiloo 🙁

Sorry PSILT 🙁 My 2.5 year old hamster had a swollen eye last week and I thought it might be the beginning of the end. Her eye is better so she must of poked herself with some hay (not the first time she has done that, she is clumsy). Now that she is older I worry about every little thing with her. I hope your little guy recovers :luck:

I'm sorry Emiloo. 🙁
Maybe see if you can Skype/Gmail-chat with your family for a bit? It's not the same, but maybe it will help?

*hugs* My grandfather passed away last month, while I am here 2000 miles away from my entire family. If you need to talk, or vent, or whatever, feel free to PM me.

Thanks. Sorry to hear about your grandfather. My grandpa just passed away on Tuesday so losing them both in a week seems unbearable. At least they'll be together again soon 🙁

I'm having a lot of trouble concentrating on studying for my final Thursday. Not sure what to do.

I'm so sorry to hear this emiloo 🙁

Make sure you keep the school up to date with everything thats happening in your personal life. Your going through a bloody tough time at the moment and vet schools don't expect you to be a robot. If you go talk to someone now they can help you out and get things rearranged, and its a lot easier to do that now than wait til you have failed something. Most of the time admin are actually wonderful at helping students out.

Im so sorry 🙁 make sure you take care of yourself too.

🙁 Em, I'm so sorry about all this. *hugs* I'm keeping you and your family in my prayers. Keep your chin up high. We're all here for you.

Thank y'all for your thoughts... again 🙁. I have some insane exams coming up and just hope I can focus enough through them all. :xf:

You and your family are in my prayers, Emiloo. Nothing is harder than losing family.

My mom is on her way to Ohio. My grandma is asking for her. She's waiting to say goodbye to let go.

I agree. It may help to defer an exam or two, even if it's just to allow you to get to a better place in your head. Sorry you're going through so much so fast, Emiloo 🙁

Thanks. The only issue is if I defer an exam, it's only pushing it closer to the next exam and I'm not sure that would turn out well either :-/. Just gonna try to keep pushing forward for now I guess. I asked my mom to not update me until after my molecular exam Thursday 🙄 Too bad next week I have an Embryology exam Monday, Anatomy Wednesday, and Endocrinology Thursday to worry about as well :uhno: (hence the reason there is no way to defer a test 🙄 )

Em, I am thinking good thoughts for your October.

Minor rant: I bit a big chunk of my cheek this weekend. My cheek still really hurts.

Oh, Emm, I am so very very very very sorry. 🙁

My thoughts are with you all. And I'm more than sure that they would understand if you needed to defer an exam or two. They're human beings too and no doubt understand the amount of stress you're currently under due to these unfortunate circumstances. I'm sure that they could work out a 'doable' schedule for you. Again, these are unforeseen, very unfortunate circumstances. If you need to be with your family, they'll understand.

**hugs**

PS - For a possible smile... I told my mom your Ryan Lochte story (the poor woman developed singles on her face about a month ago and needs all the distraction she can get) and she laughed her butt off at your 'swallowing 1/2 the pool' comment. She replied with 'the fact that the girl actually got into the pool and was able to keep enough focus not to drown should be commended!' 🙂

 thanks, mom lol. So awful about her shingles 🙁. My other grandma has had it for 6 years now and it's just awful. Hope she gets some relief soon. And thank you for your kind words and good laugh. Still trying to process it all right now. They were both so unexpected. My mom's on her plane now hoping to get there in time. :xf:

Something weird happened today. Some of you will think its hokey, some will think it's really cool... I don't really care what you think, I'm sharing anyway lol. My cousin brought her 3 year old to visit my grandma this morning and as soon as they walked in, little Alanna started pointing next to my grandma and saying "look mommy look!" She ignored her for a minute but she kept repeating it. She finally asked her what it was she was seeing and my grandma said "She sees the angel". So my cousin asked her if it was an angel she was seeing and she said " there is a shiny person waiting for grandma". 😏

Hokey or not, religious or not, that sort of story gives me the fuzzies. I dare anyone else to say otherwise. Kids are perceptive in strange ways.

True dat! And animals too...

Emm, you're more than welcome. So glad I was able to give you a smile. Also, I'll hope that you mom gets there and is able to find peace before it's too late. But, shingles for six years?!? 😱 Say it ain't so. My mom probably doesn't have six years left and the thought of her having this for longer than a few months is just an ugly thing...

From my understanding it never really goes away. It stays in your body and flares up when your immune system is low. The drugs they have for it now are pretty effective in reducing symptoms I believe.

Thanks. I'm only familiar with the general effects on the nervous system and have been avoiding doing any research simply because I'm tired of giving my poor mom bad news... However, looking at things, all of her current issues are likely to keep the symptoms around for a much longer period of time than normal. Bummer...

wrist is still painful and swollen from last thurs. Can't get to a doctor because I've been working every day. Starting to have tingling sensations in my little finger and the whole arm feels weak/tires easily. Makes doing surgery fun.

I'm going to fail immunology....

:banghead:

No, you're not. If you need help, ask for it. I'd be more than happy to assist you, as that's the class I'm doing the best in currently. PM me if you're interested. 🙂

This isn't much of a rant, but more of an update. My mom stayed up all night with my grandma. She said her breathing is just awful and that my grandma needs someone to tell her it's ok to go. My mom's brothers and sisters don't want to call in hospice and my mom is angry about it. They are a tremendous asset to not only the family of the dying, but to the person dying as well. But it's a democracy when you have 8 brothers and sisters making decisions 🙄
She said my grandma would start talking and my mom would try to answer her and she would say (in her stern, mean tone lol) "Hush! I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to your dad!" (my grandpa who just passed). Crazy old german woman.

I know sometimes people don't want to let go in front of their loved ones, any way everyone can step out of the room for a little bit tonight?
