Hate it when my mom goes back on her word. No kitten for me. 🙁
Just ignore them and get one anyway. When they see it's eyes they will instantly forget why they pushed the issue.

I think that's silly. You have the dog - I know she isn't permanent, but she runs more of a risk to property damage than a cat would. And if not that, then why would she care? She isn't scooping poo nuggets.

I could do that with my dad. But it doesn't work with my mom. 🙁
But she barely comes up here, so I could keep it a secret for a little while.![]()
"It's gonna piss everywhere." Those are her words. 🙁
I have the perfect solution for you ... Foster! When she realizes cats aren't going to trash her house maybe she'll cave. OR just say whatever kitty you get is a foster 😉
Children pee around the house more than the majority of cats.![]()
i am SO OVER SITTING IN A CLASSROOM
She actually hates the idea of fostering even more! I could train one cat eventually and trust it to you use the litter box only, according to her. But with fostering, there'd be new ones in and out and always a problem. I tried that route. And really liked it. But she didn't.
Although I may have found a foster group where you only commit to short amounts of time (like 2 or 3 weeks, whatever works for you). It'd be very easy to keep unnoticed.![]()
I can't sleep 🙁 My stress level is so high because of the roommate situation. I'm having trouble finding a place to live that is reasonably close to school and will allow 3 cats (curse my crazy cat ladyness). I wish the roommate would just move out. It sucks that she spreads rumors about us, is a slob, is rude and disrespectful to us and our property, tells us to drop dead on FB yet she cannot be evicted. Most of the stuff in the house is mine and I have 3 cats to uproot while she has her bedroom stuff and no pets to uproot. It's causing a rift between me and my dad because he is the landlord and the house was bought for me to live in while at school. Now I'm moving out and he's left with an unstable tenant. It's insane.
For the past 2 weeks I've been getting about 3-4 hours of sleep a night. I'm so tired all the time and I've fallen way behind. My stomach is constantly in knots. I can't get away from the stress; roommate is a classmate and group member for one class (the groups were randomly assigned so someone upstairs does not like me). To top everything off my BF and are pretty much over. Our relationship has completely fallen apart. I started crying last night and couldn't stop for over an hour. I'm such a mess right now 🙁
This year needs to be over ASAP
🙁 ... I feel like we all go through periods of life like this and just know that there WILL be an end! It totally sucks right now but it'll make you a stronger person in the long run and you'll be able to fully appreciate the better times in life! Hang in there ky 😳
p.s. remind me why your dad can't evict the horrible roommate?
Stress will eat you alive if you let it ... make time to do something you enjoy, even if it's only 5 minutes/day!!
Thanks for the support 🙂 Not being able to sleep is certainly not helping things. Tenancy laws here are favor the tenant heavily. In order to evict her she either has to stop paying rent, damage the property, or break the law while in the residence. He checked with a lawyer and her threats would have to be direct and explicit (i.e. "I'm going to physically harm you" vs. "drop dead"). Even if she said something like "I hope you die" or "I want you to die" it wouldn't be enough because she isn't directly saying she'll harm. The strict tenancy act is fine for the offending tenant and even the landlord but it leaves other tenants without much recourse unless a law is broken 🙁
This sounds awful- I'm so sorry 🙁 I would totally offer you my spare bedroom even temporarily but I can't have any more pets and it's a decent ways out of town. Honestly, you can probably talk to the professor of the course where you're together in the group and ask for a switch. Did she sign a lease? If so, for how long? Like, can he give her the boot once the lease is up, even if it's only next year?
We have 2 more weeks of the class and my other group members are good so I'm sticking it out for the semester but I'm requesting a switch for next semester. She signed a lease for one year. As long as she doesn't renew then it's ok. She admits she hates it here and doesn't want to live with us anymore but she thinks the we should move and she should get to stay here alone 🙄 Dad offered her a penalty free move out option in October but she declined. She also plans on skipping out on rent for the summer months when she goes home. Pretty ridiculous.
I will say that AVC is the most supportive place I've been at. Most of my classmates, my 2nd year buddy (along with other 2nd years 🙂), friends in 3rd year, and the professors and associate dean have all been great. And of course SDN is a great morale booster. Thanks to everyone who has reached out to me, I really appreciate it! 😍
Ky, you should find out what things would irk her so badly that SHE would want to move out.![]()
Having one of those "feel like a big idiot failure" type of days.
I have been cutting my calories and increasing my exercise....and gaining weight. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I've never been this heavy in my life...I'm so frustrated

One of my diamonds fell out of my wedding band today.
THIS should be covered by the jewelry store you bought it from, no matter what. Stones should not fall out. Take it back to the store.
