I really want to stop puking and stop feeling nauseous. I feel miserable and I really really don't want to call in tomorrow. I felt like such a jerk face the one time I did before and this time I work with the slowest people on the planet so things wouldn't get done.

Also I feel asleep with my laptop up and my cat walked all over my keyboard messing up my WW spreadsheet.

🙁 I hope you start feeling better soon. Might be worth it to call in, though. It happens to us all. You don't want to get those people sick and be stuck doing their work when they call in. 👍

well she definitely had plenty on board peri-operatively, they just didnt send her home with anything. i honestly wonder if its because owner compliance tends to suck here so much? i still don't see that as an excuse though. very surprising to me, doesn't seem very humane to me as well

When I worked at the community spay/neuter clinic for a short time, we never sent any pain meds home. Looking back, I think it may have been partially due to owner compliance (many of the people using the clinic were more likely to try to sell the pain meds on the street than to actually give them to their pet 🙄 ) and the fact that most people simply weren't willing to pay for them.

I thought my day couldn't get worse. We took in a transfer today and the air conditioning broke in the back of the van on the way here. Driver didn't stop to check on them. All of the dogs had heat stroke. 3 were lateral. 1 of those seizing. Another one was at 110 degrees.

I just....I just don't know. 😡

Soooo, I was just cleaning out my fridge and found a small salad shrimp bag that had fallen down the back and was laying behind the crisper drawer. No idea how long it's been there, but it was fully expanded with air, ready to bust at the seams.

Like a complete ***** I decide to stab it with a knife instead of having it explode everywhere in the garbage.

BAD FECKIN' IDEA!!!!!

:barf::barf::barf:

I immediately threw it in the garbage bag, tied the bag and took it outside, but it still permeated my ENTIRE house.

My stomach is roiling, I may or may not vomit and/or have...other...happenings... My house smells like dog vomit. I can't find my Febreeze. My uterus is making me a psycho. I just. Can't. Even.

Listening to my roommate deep sigh and moan and complain about how she still has to go to her last class of the year tomorrow is making me want to stab something. You've taken 3 classes this year. THREE! And your final exam this semester was a one page take home final. GET OUTTA HERE! +pissed+

why is is so hard to sell a lifted vehicle. 😡

the two people who have come to test drive it have never driven a built vehicle, let alone a heavily built one.
"Uhm, well it leans quite a bit when you took that corner."
"Yes.....every lifted vehicle ever on the face of the planet is going to do that, especially if it doesnt have sway bars.
"Oh."

One guy I had to do the test drive for him 😕 because he didnt feel comfortable. I just....what? Why are you wasting both of our time?

Haha. I got my car for cheap because it is lowered and no one wanted it that way.
I had to take a guy on a test drive once because he couldn't drive stick (was buying the car to learn).
Car buying/selling sucks!

A take home final? And one page? Oh, the agony 🙄

my scion is lowered. have contemplated selling it, too. sigh. I will never own a normal height vehicle, i swear.

and lol at the guy not knowing how to drive a manual. :meanie:

One of the reasons I picked my GTI was because it was already lowered with sport suspension (among some other spiffy things done to it). Lowered rides til I die 😎

And also, I think driving a standard might honestly be a fairly effective anti-theft device in America today. It's a dying art.

Sad but probably true. I recently poked fun at a friend that bought a really nice sporty coupe with an auto trans. The overwhelming reply from a lot of people was like "who knows how to drive manual anymore? it's such a pain." I was like 😱.

Some people feel as though their car has better re-sale with auto, which I can't deny with how things are going. But they're missing out. Manual is so much better. :meanie:

Honestly I would love to learn how to drive a manual. But growing up in a house with only automatics makes it hard. You have to find someone who 1) has a manual car and 2) is willing to let you learn how to drive on it.

If anyone is offering, sign me up for the first lesson, otherwise I'm stuck as is.

I would totally teach you!!! It's something worth knowing, imo. But I'm obviously a few *** away and my manual VW Beetle has since been traded for an Escape. 🙁

I hope you get the opportunity to learn one day. 👍

Oh yeah. I knew how to drive stick before I had my driver's license. My dad has been into cars his whole life and has been club racing as a hobby longer than I've been alive. He'd be damned if he didn't indoctrinate me into it as early as possible

Same here. I actually learned how to drive manual on my dad's old truck when I was a kid. I wasn't even able to reach the pedals on my own yet when he started teaching me. But he sold the truck when I was around ten, and there hasn't been a manual vehicle in my family since. Except for my motorcycle, but that's not quite the same thing.

Same. I tried to get my father to teach me when we were test driving cars back when I was just getting my license and car shopping and his response was basically "you're a girl. you'll never need to know how to drive a manual". Ummmm, I've lived on farms, Dad, and I want to be able to drive the damn tractors and farm trucks!

Especially living near a big city, it seems like autos are way more popular than manuals.
I had one friend spend ~10 minutes letting me attempt to drive her manual Mini Cooper. That was years and years ago and that was probably the last time I touched a manual transmission. I would LOVE to learn but just haven't had opportunities.

I had a situation where I had to drive my friends manual car back to my house to get spare keys (she drunkenly locked MY keys in MY car) and I probably sat at a stoplight for 10 mins stalling out. Drunk friend trumpeting and laughing in the backseat yelling "PUSH THE CLUTCH, LET IT GO, GIVE IT GAS". So embarrassing. Thankfully it was like 2am and no one was on the road.

Current BF seriously sat me down and made me learn on his jeep. I am not the best, but I can get from point a to point b pretty decent.

Side note : I think a man driving a manual is very attractive.

My uncle was supposed to teach me how to drive manual when they had their Jeeps. Then they got rid of them and got a small SUV and some motorcycles.

A wrangler is seriously the easiest and best to learn on, IMO.

For what it's worth, I'm 20 and I don't even have a license (yet?)...I've driven a car probably about 4 times total. The last time was at least three years ago, in my mom's giant SUV, after I had only driven the tiny car they had for my driver's ed class. 👎

We had a manual when I learned how to drive, but with all the other learning-to-drive stuff, I just found shifting to be way too much at the time. A couple years later, my automatic car died and I needed a new one pronto and Step-Dad's son was selling a manual Corolla. It was much easier to learn once the other parts of driving were more second-nature. I'm now very attached to driving a standard, and it was on my list of criteria when I recently went looking for a replacement for the Corolla. If I was doing a ton of city driving (stop and go, especially in Halifax, where everything is on a 45 deg angle on a hill) I might opt for an auto, but I'm not right now. It feels weird to drive my parents automatic. I don't trust the car to not stall on me.

I love driving my stick! I don't live in a huge city, but if I did it would be a pain (like being stuck on a highway with stop and go traffic....) But I love driving it! I've offered to teach many people and so far no one has taken me up on my offer...

Another die hard manual fan here. my parents have always had automatics and that's what I learned to drive on but then I got my first car which was a manual. It was really frustrating to learn to drive, but now I don't know if I will ever go back!

My current truck is my first automatic and I really miss manual 🙁.
I love driving my fiancé's manual wrangler every chance I get. We might be trading vehicles this summer!

I drive a manual. I love my car, but would probably get an automatic if I bought new just to make life a little easier. However, if I'm going for a used car and can get a discount because they're having trouble selling a stick shift... I'd probably be tempted. I also agree that it's probably a theft deterrent at this point. 😛

Why do I feel so guilty about calling in twice in the year and a half I've been working when all my other coworkers don't care when they call in? I've called in less than anyone else and I'm legitimately sick. I've had a coworker tell me he was going to call in (and then do it) because he was pissed that another coworker was out sick for a week and left us with all the work. Now I feel sick and guilty.

This is why the world is in such a mess. The good people are used as rugs while the a holes with no guilt wipe their feet on them. I know it is next to impossible not to feel guilty, but try to ease your mind that you're doing nothing wrong.

Don't feel bad. I got my license at the age of 22 because driving made me really anxious and it took 3 permits, a professional driving school, and a lot of patient people before I was able to get it. Now I can't imagine why it took me so long to do it in the first place.

Wow, nice to see so many manual drivers here 🙂 It's what I learned on and never went back.

I got a friend good one time - went to start the car and didn't push the clutch in... "Oh crap, the car won't start!" Turning the engine over and over and he was like 😱 CRAP. Bahahah.

This will definitely be me. My mom didn't get her license until she was 23, but that was because she was living in Philly (didn't really need a car) and was bicycle racing during the time when people would usually have been getting their licenses.
I'm just terrified of driving. 😳

 Nice.

One of my friends freaked out while I was trying to teach her how to drive manual once. I may have freaked out a bit too. Her stalling in the middle of a train crossing with the lights flashing and bells ringing signalling an oncoming train did raise my anxiety a tad.

For the first time in my life, the internet has failed me.

I am having one weird but completely harmless side effect from the birth control I'm on. After days of scouring the internet, I have come to the conclusion that I am the only person in the history of the world to have ever experienced this. I cannot find a single mention of this side effect anywhere. I even went so far as to ask around on a few women's health forums, just to see if anyone had experienced something similar, and I was promptly called a liar because "birth control doesn't cause that!" Apparently strangers on the internet know my body better than I do? Okay then. 🙄

I'm tempted to call my doctor just to find out if I truly am a medical anomaly. But then she's going to want to do an exam, which I'm certain will end with her saying "It's nothing to worry about." And then I'll be out a $30 co-pay for nothing. *sigh*

same here. My truck is an automatic and I miss manuals... and I love driving my wife's manual (but it is NOT a wrangler... it is a convertible😛)

Not to be argumentative (ok, maybe just a little).... but how can you be sure it is a side effect of the birth control? Have you done a controlled double blind experiment on yourself?

My mind is still thinking this. Just wish it would stop, because I don't want to. Some days I feel ok, but then there are just times where it is hard to keep going. Just have to keep pushing through though, it will all be ok eventually.
