It's so good. I've been unable to think about anything but SBR for five days. I need more!!!
Wait they released an episode already?? I can't believe I missed that. Though I see they're not going to have a normal release schedule 🥲

Yep, last Thursday they released a double length. And still no updates on when to expect the next episodes! I've heard they may potentially drop them in batches, but also rumours that the next drop may not be until *September*, which scares me.

What accident?
Someone with a family member at MSU (though not the vet program) told me one of the cows was decapitated by an automatic milker in a freak accident earlier this week. But now I'm questioning whether they were just having me on (because is such a thing possible?).

I was supposed to be working my job this summer again, but the third years decided they want to keep working despite being in clinics now. I don't know how sustainable this will be, so I guess there is still a chance they back out and I'm able to work again. Otherwise I will have to find something else. I really like the job so I'm disappointed. I could also enjoy being mostly unemployed this summer lol I just wanted to save up a little bit of money. I was planning to start selling my insect art online, so I could always do that. I'd have time this way.

Ugh, Idk. I guess it is my last summer forever so it wouldn't be a bad idea to enjoy it. I only worked 15-25 hours a week last summer so it's not really even that big of a difference. I also don't know how many shifts I'll be working at the groomer yet. Maybe she will need more help than she did last year. I am just not a fan of the uncertainty, especially since summer is only 8 weeks away.
Ok update on this, my lovely boss offered to help me get a job in another department 😭 she's so nice!

Oh yeah I think I heard about it in passing. Someone mentioned decapitation.

Edit: the dairy farm belongs to the undergrad students.

You can fill out fafsa early but since there’s minimal need based aid for graduate students, there’s not a lot of incentive to do it early. It’s not like in undergrad where things like Pell grants can “run out” so you need to apply early, you’ll get the federal loan limit guaranteed. I’ve read in other online spaces that the amounts on fafsa showing as available aren’t even updated yet and still show the old amounts (probably because it will take time for the government to update their systems to the new rules), so I personally wouldn’t rush too much if you haven’t even chosen a school yet.

I have literally zero recollection of my class doing this
I definitely did it, but I think it was during 1st or 2nd year FARMs? I don't remember. This is when I got crotch-kicked by a ****-covered cow hoof (forelimb) though lol. It was only funny because she nailed me with such grace and accuracy, and I had a hoof-shaped poop print right on my crotch. Left a decent bruise!

Yeah I def didn’t do it during farms 😂 unless it was optional/volunteer based or something and I just didn’t volunteer

Definitely wasn't volunteer and it would have been third year for us cause SD and I were together. So I wonder if they changed it for y'all.

Oooooooooooooooh I am having a time with UMN right now.

I have accommodations. They are based on physical disorders (not that that matters any more than any other issue). We are being told we have to take our in person final exams on a campus we don't spend any of our time at, don't receive reciprocal parking at (as in we have to pay for parking to access our accommodations or take public transit that usually includes walking from stop to stop), and in buildings we've never been in before. That makes our accommodations inaccessible and unusable.

Sorry. If your campus is unable to provide appropriate accommodations for the students who are enrolled there, your campus is not disability accessible. Mind you, we only learned this a few days ago with 6 weeks left in the semester.

It is not my responsibility to make up for a staffing or planning deficit and it is certainly not going to come at the expense of my grades or my health.

I was highly considering attending UMN until I asked about accommodations at admitted students day. When I learned this I could not believe that was how they had it set up. Using the accommodations would have made exams more stressful. It is something I am now making sure to get info about at other schools.

This is new this semester. I have not had this issue the past three semesters. Overall, professors are relatively easy to work with when it comes to accommodations. Unfortunately, the disability office (as it serves the whole school not just the CVM) have blanket policies that make the CVM usage of it challenging. I was warned by the class above me that they could be difficult. I’ve also heard that getting any kind of accommodations for rotations is hellish.

Unfortunately it’s definitely something that students who utilize accommodations should consider. If you had asked me my own personal opinion first year or last semester, my answer likely would have been more neutral to positive.

When you realize that going to the gym IS beneficial for your mental health so now you are looking at gym bags and taking creatine.....
Congratulations! The gym changed my life. The hardest part is starting, and then you get addicted 😉
