Any tips for getting and staying in the gym? That’s my current struggle
Give it some time and once you start to see the progress it's hard to stop. I love being buff lol and being able to carry my 180 lb partner around no problem, so that's my motivation. Yours might be different which is ok, this is just my experience

I found creating a routine to help too because I knew I was always going to be at the gym these days at these times, so it just became a normal part of my week. It's harder to make excuses that way too. This might help most in the early stages

One of the hardest parts of vet school for me was losing a ton of muscle. I'm still very muscular but I notice the difference, so I can't wait to be out of school and actually able to work out more consistently again. I just don't have 10 hours a week like I did in undergrad to spend at the gym or the mental energy to plan and prep meals so I hit my 120g of protein per day goal. I still lift and do cardio it's just a lot less than before so it was inevitable to have some atrophy.

I think the biggest thing for me was trying various things until I found something I actually I enjoy. Then it's less of a struggle to get yourself to do it.

I don't really enjoy standard lifting and such, unfortunately I find it incredibly boring. Walking is good, hate running. Before I found aerial, I always had the most fun doing group class/dance type stuff.

So that's my advice - don't feel like you have to do the standard gym thing if you don't enjoy it. There's lots of ways to be active, sometimes it takes some trial and error to find what brings you joy.

Do fun **** and it's much easier. I do aerials, also (though less recently) and medieval armored combat lol. Spent like nine hours wrestling and hitting people with an axe yesterday and couldn't be happier.

Just submitted my resignation to the best job I've ever had that corporate had gone on to destroy in less than a year. I'm devastated and don't know how I'm going to tell the staff or if I'm just going to disappear into the abyss.

4 years in and I had to call my dad tonight to tell him not to give my number to random ppl re:vet stuff. Didn't think I'd have to do that.
Also dog is 2+hrs away and already been to er/urgent yesterday so not really sure what they were expecting/ wanting me to do 🤷‍♀️
