HI

I took DAT today and sort of panicking because my QR is not high as I hoped it to be.
I kinda want someone to tell me all will be okay or I should work on something to make it better.
Can you please look at my chances?

DAT:
PAT: 22
QR:18
RC: 20
BIO: 23
GC:24
OC:20
TS: 22
AA: 21

(I took my 1st DAT back in 2013 - which as AA 20 TS 20)

GPA: (total I am not sure)
GPA from my previous college was 3.33 (109 credits) (5 semesters)
GPA from my current college is 3.9 (45 credits) (4 semesters)
(I transferred. Both of my college is just in-state schools. No big fames.)

ISSUE: I was suspended for 3 semesters from my previous college because my Genetics Lab instructor thought I cheated with my lab partner because we both got wrong calculation from the shared data. For this particular class, we were not supposed to help each other out on calculation part. We did, and both got it wrong. Also we were both seniors. so the school board said they had to suspend me and my friend because of our senior standing (it was written like that on the decision letter.)

I got F on that class, which brought down my GPA to 3.33 (before, it was 3.56)

ISSUE 2: I suffered from clinical depression/panic attack in the end of 2nd year of my college (while I was in my previous college). It was due to stress from my family/work/studying/financial issues. All that aside, I took medication to live day to day. During this time, my grade went down (Not a lot, it went to 3.9 to 3.7, then to 3.5). I eventually developed a heart condition in 2014 (cardiac muscle damage).

I volunteered/shadowed at a dental school Pediotric department while I was attending my 1st college for a year.

I had a gap year, but I took a class at a community college.
I resumed my studying at my current college in FALL of 2015. I am graduating in May 2017.
I was a part-time teacher at a public school for a year and worked at a dental lab at night in 2015-2016. (and college)
Now I just work at a dental lab and I am a manager of CAD/CAM department.
I am starting my shadowing at one of the doctors I work with soon.

No research experience.
Not much of life outside of school, work, and church. (no fun extra-curriculum or sorority to show I was actively participated in school social life).

I have my downs (the suspension & depression). My QR is 18. Some say it is not bad, some say it is not good.
I worked a lot (hopefully it is a plus factor?)

Do you think I have shot at those IVY league school? (Like UPenn or Harvard)
If not IVY leagues, do you think I have shot at USC or Maryland?

Well, the qr isnt bad or good. But thats the least of your concerns. Schools will be very critical of that cheating issue, so you have to prepare for that in interviews. The only school I would say you have slim to no chance would be Harvard, their gpa average is 3.87 and dat average is 23. Otherwise I suggest you research your schools and cast a wide net.

If you're going to get a not-so-stellar score, QR is the area to have it in. Your DAT is great overall. The cheating issue will reduce your chances significantly but just own up to it and show what measures you've taken to prevent it from recurring. I think you should be optimistic about your chances.

Ditto both the above ^ score-wise, everything except QR is great- and schools don't really consider QR anyways. Be honest about the cheating issue, but don't let it define your application
