Veterinary School Application Advising Ad

It's a VERY good thing that I don't have a Five Guys anywhere near me. I only get to eat it a few times a year, when I drive to Minneapolis(3 hrs away).

I get to eat it June 17th! 😀
 
I prefer Mooyah to Five Guys, and Cookout is even better. Cookout also has,by far, the best milkshakes I have ever tasted.
 
I am driving up tomorrow to gather more of my crap from Gainesville on my way to NC. I have officially planned Five Guys as my meal 😀
 
Started shadowing this week and watching my first surgery my vision got all weird and I had to step out and get a drink. But I made sure to eat today before I shadowed and brought snacks and felt great watching a surgical fracture repair on a kitten! So happy! 😀

I'm so jealous! My sister gets to go home (is there now) but I have three jobs this summer so can't. Really hope I can go for Christmas but that isn't sure at all either.

I'm super excited! Germany for a few days, then Amsterdam for a few days, then Brussels for a few days, then back home. Right before interviews my parents were like, "oh by the way, so if you get into vet school this first try and save some money on having to spend extra time in school and reapply, we'll go on this awesome trip to celebrate. No trip if you don't get in! Good luck!" I was like... 😱 must. nail. interviews.

I'm sure you'll get there soon. Make the time! Traveling is worth it 🙂
 
My friend just confirmed we are going to Las Vegas end of September!

Totally going to celebrate my 30th birthday there! (I don't care if it's a couple weeks late).
 
It's not really traveling in the same sense for me. It's going home to see family. I miss my dad and grandparents. But I can't quit my job. I can't afford that with my three animals.

The best Five Guys is in it's hometown, Northern VA. Seriously. It's not as good at other places. Boyfriend lives down the road from the first one (which has since been demolished and moved down the road..)

One time my fiancé was on the phone while I was eating (romantic, I know 🙄 ). He said "what's in your mouth?"... I said "Five Guys" :smack:

Found the most appropriate, perfect tea for myself today. Somewhat disappointingly, drinking it had no perceivable effect on my sex drive.

It really was! 🙂 Kept myself busy all day...except for the food coma nap mid day. Haha. Im sorry you had a stressful one.
 
Despite the troubles of missing our flight back to Thailand, Chiang Mai has turned out to be wonderful and everything went better than expected. The zipline place we visited today was much cooler than the one we originally would have gone to!
 
I survived the first year of marriage!! :biglove::biglove: Actually it was the easiest and best year of my seven year relationship so far. Here's to hoping the future is just as awesome. 😍

My rave is kind of silly...I have this pink microfiber blanket from Brookstone that my parents got me for Christmas forever ago. I was afraid to wash it for the longest time because I've seen people wash microfiber incorrectly and it's not the same soft silky blanket as it is when you first get it :\ I use it super lightly anyway so I was making excuses, but today I finally went for it and ta daaaa it came out perfectly 😀

2 months! Then we will have all the mango mojitos we want! Also apparently the shot glass I used to measure was not a single shot but a double shot glass. I was wondering why it looked a little big... And now it's a little early to be this intoxicated.

How hardy are they?? Everything outside either gets eaten by cows and horses or laid on and ripped out of the ground by the dogs and armadillos. Dr. Meinkoth is my supply right now, haha. :luck:

I have ripped out this mint a half dozen times over the past three years. It doesn't die. I gave up and decided at least its green and smells good lol.

It grows well in pots too, and it's less likely to try and take over the universe if confined well.

Or you can just help yourself to the stuff growing in my front yard on your way home from school lol
 
So proud right now. The newborn robin with a broken bill that I started caring for 2 weeks ago at the wildlife rehab center has graduated to the fledgling room! She has all her feathers and is taking short flights. She's still the smallest but she's also the loudest.

Also, why are baby crows SO durn cute?? 😍 I'm trying to avoid letting them imprint on me but there's one who makes it SO hard. He is constantly trying to look past/around the crow hand puppet to see my face.
 
My nutrition cookie experiments are going well! My goal is to make something that I can eat as a treat at the end of a long, tiring, stressful day when I'm in a bad mood and I won't want to throw it across the room yelling about how I deserve a real cookie and where is the Toll House recipe. My first experiments yielded what my SO dubbed "splats," but today's attempt yielded actual cookies! They're still not perfect but they are close. Does anyone have any resources on cookie modifications or baking with whole grains? The centers aren't quite setting and I'm not sure why.

Got a summer position at the place I worked at for three years in undergrad (lab animal) and I'm going to make the most I've ever made per hour by quite a bit😱 so flipping happy/grateful/excited!:soexcited::biglove:
 
About to head out and meet the 32 piggies I'll be working with for my research project. 😍
