I have a few meetings in the next couple of weeks that will determine whether I will stay here for a residency or not (I'm already committed to doing a Ph.D. here). That's nervewracking but not the rave. The rave is that one of the neurologists is just being so great about this and going to bat for me so much that I just feel like even if I don't end up staying here, I do have someone that will fight on my behalf and that makes this whole stupid process so much easier...

I guess what I am saying is that I am so grateful for all of the support that I have at this school.

Ahhh, I love Vet Ranch so much. Dr. Matt just came out with a new Youtube video on his OfftheRanch channel. He hung up the Gold Play Button plaque in the Vet Ranch main clinic. I am so happy right now 😍:claps:

I've been saving my pennies to get my older dog an appointment at the local orthopedic surgeon/rehab place. Pet insurance doesn't cover exam fees, so I needed to get the money together for that.
Come to find out they waive the consult fee for referring vets, and her insurance will cover 90% of any actual treatments! Here's hoping she's a good candidate for PRP or joint injections of some sort.

It's been a good weekend even though I haven't gotten as much stuff done as I should. Saw Get Out on Friday night (just as excellent as its Rotten Tomatoes rating would lead you to believe), had a great shift on small animal emergency yesterday, and then went to the zoo with friends today. Had delicious barbecue afterwards and watched Blazing Saddles.

We'll just pretend I studied for virology somewhere in there

My brother was watching Blazing Saddles yesterday. You must share a wavelength. 😛

Just took my last midterm EVER! 🙂 Which is exciting, even though it was super hard after our professor told us countless times it would be the easiest one. No... No it was not, lady.
:highfive: YAY!

And why is that always the case 😵 both times I've specifically had a prof say something like that its been so far from the truth.

I have my laptop back! It is also my same old laptop with the same info/data on it just repaired!

The part that makes me happiest is that I have my calendar back. Between my love of overbooking myself, my terrible memory, and not always being super organized, this last month without my calendar was rough. Usually I immediately type out any and all due dates, plans, and hangouts into it and then evaluate my week based on what I have planned.

They also gave my computer back to me broken in another way, but I am not sending it back until exams are done.

Does this mean they left your doorstop photos untouched?

This weekend, I'm running in a half marathon/5K to benefit rescued cats and kittens.

That's me hopping over some other runners in the race ... I wish I had four paws! :cat:

I was really bummed that I didn't make the cut for Banfield's SJP and I was starting to stress about having another partially 'wasted' summer like last year. I was coming to terms with having no job this summer and just spending my time working on my boyfriend's house, but I got a call today from the vet at a clinic right by my boyfriend's house who not only sees exotics, but was a vet at the two zoos within driving distance (connections!). I had emailed the clinic my resume not expecting to hear back. She wants to meet with me to discuss doing an internship-type thing with her this summer before I head to Atlanta for my externship. I'm so excited :soexcited:! I have no idea if she intends on making it paid yet, but honestly I'd rather do an internship-type thing with a doctor who sounds amazing than paint and landscape every day this summer

Edit: Although this is great, it also gives my boyfriend bragging rights since he has been telling me not to worry because "things will work out, just wait" all week 🙄 I hate when he's right 😛

I have scheduled an appointment with an experienced pet groomer (who specializes in cat grooming) for my cat to receive a proper cat pedicure.

I have never hired a pet groomer before - and I hope my cat doesn't go ballistic.

But, I'm not holding my breath ... not even a little bit.

My cat hates having her nails trimmed - and pitches a huge hissy fit - as if we're trying to kill her, or something.

The rest of the time, she's a purring little angel - except when we cut her nails.
