Woke up this morning from a really weird dream in which I slept in, through my alarm, until 11:00AM. So in the dream, I was frantically e-mailing my TA about section that I'd missed at 8:00AM and is there any way I can make up the quiz/not be dropped from the class because I was absent from the first seciton? I woke up at 6:40 kind of thinking, "Well, that was a weird dream...." Then I thought about it, and realized--oh hey, it's Tuesday! I really do have section at 8:00AM! I totally hadn't set my alarm for earlier or anything, and I definitely would have missed it if I hadn't had that dream.

I'm glad my subconscious mind is on top of it, even if my conscious mind isn't.

Haha, nice ^^ I love those moments.

I just got a phone call saying that my fiance and I are approved for a duplex for our little family (dog + cat). We move in June! I'm so excited to live with him again. It honestly felt like we were breaking up when I moved my stuff out of our old place 10 months ago. This will be a nice change of pace.

Haha I know I know...they tolerate me. I've got the rest of my life to win them over. Everything will be fine once I have a kid. They're big on grandchildren.😉

Congrats, withoutane! I'm so happy for you to be going to Oregon!!! 😀 :highfive: Hang in there with the parents. They'll come around 😀

^This happens to me more often than not. I wonder why my brain does it......

Rave: It's Tuesday and I move closer to sheep vaccination day. I can't wait!!!!!!!!! :biglove: :biglove: Any advice for sheep handling for vaccinations etc? I also have missed SDN so much. I wish my senior spring semester wasn't so busy......

Sheep handling...ahhh...love it.
Do NOT try to grab the sheep by its 'scuff'- it will only want to run away more! Do NOT let go of its little head- this is the main way you will handle and direct the animal. And you will get dirty (fleece grease), so don't wear nice clothes.

The day of my AVC interview last year, I had about 5 dreams in a row that I'd missed my alarm and overslept.

Re: sheep. My only experience with sheep handling is watching the sheep showmanship in 4-H, where inevitably, one of them would get loose and have to be chased around the ring. A turkey once got loose too. Oh how very happy I felt to be showing a well-behaved horse with a halter and lead....

Thank you! I love how you put all of the smileys in all of your posts. 🙂

Totally off-topic, but I'm super compelled to tell all!

CONGRATULATIONS to the Texas A&M Lady Ags for their first NCAA National Championship (ever!!!)! They worked so hard this year to get where they are! CELEBRATE, LADIES! You deserve it!!! :soexcited::clap::claps:

OK, a little behind on things. Withoutane: BIG congrats on being called off the OR waitlist!!! Yippee!!

Now, for kaydubs and her upcoming sheepcation...

👍👍 GREAT advice!! I dig sheep for the most part, but they do tend to be quite skiddish. 😉 And yeah, be prepared for the fleece grease. I don't know how, but it manages to get just about everywhere!! Another technique I've used with smaller dudes is straddle them at their midsection and hold their heads upwards. Saw this from one fabulous livestock vet and have kept it in my repertoire ever since.

Have FUN!!! 😀

My SO and I just turned in our paperwork and deposit to a 3 bed/1.5 bath duplex. The funny thing: we technically handed in an incomplete application. He never paid his $20 (it's $20 per person over 18 to run the background/credit checks), just mine. Oh well, they let us get the place!!

Whoop! 👍

Finished a draft of my thesis! WOW, does that feel good!!!!

My room mate is taking a class where they had to go to London for 10 days (what a class, right?). She just got back today, and she brought me a British copy of the first Harry Potter book!!

😍

Not too exciting, but with the amount of stuff I have to get through school-wise this weekend/ next week, and the taking into account how much I love Harry Potter, it made my day 😀

Thanks for the advice, psilovethomas and LMMS (and of course the shared 4-H-ness of C22)! I will incorporate your advice & try not to get too greasy (I'm sure my attempts will be in vain 😀) But I don't really care! :soexcited: Unless the grease cannot be removed from clothing....then my clothes will smell of both sheep & cows 👍

Withoutane, smilies/smileys are my signature. I'd be bored & lost without them :biglove:

NStarz - you go girl!!!:highfive:

It is 12:30 AM. In roughly 16 hours, I will be forever done with my biochemistry lab class. Between the inconsistent marking (5 TA's, and all of them have slightly different style preferences for labs, which they don't tell you about), experiments that didn't work, and my space cadet lab "partner", I will be STOKED to hand in my final exam tomorrow evening and have it be gone from my life.

I got horrendously drunk on saturday night, and ended up pretty much unable to walk or function, and ended up a crying mess in teh middle of the city because "I don't study enough so I'm going to be a terrible vet"

My wonderful, wonderful boyfriend then arranged for me to be picked up from the city and taken back to his place, where he proceeded to console me and then hold my hair back while I vomited, and emptied my bucket every time I vomited, made me drink heaps of water and supervised me when I passed out. He then proceeded to drive me home the next day, after making sure I was wearing sunglasses that were appropriately dark.

I almost never, ever get that drunk, and we've only been dating a few months so I was stoked he took such good care of me. And he didn't even laugh... too much 😍

On a beautiful sunny warm day, I LOVE LOVE LOVE driving with my windows down and blasting music. 😍 I also love belting out every song when I'm driving, I try to ignore the fact that my car is not that soundproof 😀

If he didn't laugh at all, I think it'd imply strong disapproval. So he sounds like a good guy. 🙂

I still remember one of my earlier hangovers with my boyfriend. I was vomitting pink vomit in the dorm toilets while he slumbered peacefully on. He then proceeded to wake up and tell me that to feel better, I need to eat something! This face pretty much sums it up: :uhno:

We're still together all this long time later but I still laugh when I think of him dragging me out to have pancakes, stopping a couple of times along the way so I could vomit some more.

my kitty is cuuurrrreeeddd!!! pancreatic lipase, bilirubin, globulins, proteins, all within range!!! 😀 good day 👍

I had an awful dream last night that I got rejected from vet school in a very mean dramatic way, I don't remember the details anymore. But then I woke up and realized it was a all dream and I'm going to vet school. 😀

It's getting closer and closer to being real. Two and a half weeks left of work and then I'm off on my adventure before school starts. Packing up my life here is moving along, just did a big box of kitchen stuff.

oh my goodness, the cute meter just exploded!

Wow! Cute! Mama has 6 kittens though?? Jeez!

Yep. Her milk production dropped when she ended up at the shelter, so she and the kittens are going to be with us for the next four weeks. (Squee!) 😀 She's started producing some, but nowhere near enough to feed all those little piggies. I'm kind of amazed at how much more work six feels like than the five we did back in 2002... maybe it has something to do with the fact that I am getting old and taking the night shift isn't as easy as it was when I was a teenager.

It's a good thing I have a full house and made my 'no vacancy' policy clear before agreeing to this, because I am in LOVE with a few of these guys. Mom included.

Awwww...my favorite part is how they knead when they suckle. My grown-up kitten still does that (along with suckling occasionally) on my lap when he's really happy. 😍

Got home from France yesterday, and got the best greeting ever from my dog 😍 - we made a pretty gigantic scene at the airport. I think I made a bigger deal over my dog than most people do over their human friends and family

And today we did agility for the first time in months and she remembered everything! (Can't say the same for me, though, haha.)

I'm DONE! Wrote the last exam of my undergrad last night and enjoyed sleep (blessed sleep) all morning...

Masters defense re-scheduled (5/16.... happy to FINALLY have it on the books!)

Extremely windy up here and has been all week.... buuuuutttt.... got an 8 mile bike ride in on Monday, a 15 miler on Wednesday and only 6 miles yesterday. I'll take 30 miles at 14 mph for the week. 🙂 A long way to go till 150 this June, but it's cool.... baby steps.

Happy spring and TGIF!!! I get to work in the garden today 😍 (I feel like such an old lady....)

One of my coworkers just did a photo shoot of my dog and I'll get the CD of the pictures on Wednesday. Excited!!! She was such a cutie and ran and played for the camera, though unfortunately wouldn't chase her tail!
Question, though - he is starting up a little animal photo business and using this in his portfolio, but I should still pay him a bit for taking and working with the shots. I just have no idea whatsoever how much to give. Or just bake him something? Suggestions?

Congrats! I'm dead-jealous! My academic-jumping around in the few years after high school means I'm still another semester away from being done with undergrad. 😳

Silly rave here---but man, I sure do love spring!! 😍 The cold gross winter is GONE GONE GONE! I can bike to class and work! There are gorgeous flowering trees in all shades of pink, white and yellow! While it's not totally warm here--it's still so nice to be outside!!! :soexcited:

Ugh where do you live? Its snowing here (again) today...

Received 3rd place at a university-sponsored research conference today for my poster!

Meeee too! Going to a school that's on quarters, right about now is when I start hating my life as all my friends are doing finals and being done with school. I guess it just offsets how much I love my life in late August and early September when I'm still enjoying the beautiful weather and all my friends are stuck in classrooms 😳

What? Is that your baby?? Wahhhh too cute! Name?

TT! What's with the lack of funny+cute avatar? How will I recognize you? 🙂

😱 Does that little nugget belong to you, LIS??

Sorry. I realized after I posted that I should have clarified. That's the latest (and last!!) in our family. Our third kid. Ian Charles, born 4/14/11, healthy and (so far) not too upset at facing the colder 'outside' world.

Congratulations! He's so handsome! I remember you saying you had something like 2.75 kids a few months back. Enjoy your time with him before vet school craziness begins!!
