my hockey team won our first tournament championship this past weekend - 6 games so it was intense! we'd never done better than 2nd place before. 🙂

I am so happy for you that she moved out!!! I was worried about you. Horrible roommates are the worst. I felt for you.

Thanks! She'll be officially moved out tomorrow afternoon when she gets the rest of her stuff. I'm trying really hard to be positive about her and the situation while at school. Rumors have been circulating that me and the other roommate are horrible bullies and that we forced her out by being verbally abusive 🙁 It sucks that I'm trying to make friends and fit in while this is going around but I'm hoping this will pass and people will see I'm not a crazy mean person :xf:

Just continue to be yourself. The people who see the truth will be worth having in your life, and the people who don't, aren't.
 
😀😀😀 I just got a call from the Boston rescue people!!!! They're going to set up a home visit within the week (for set up, not sure when it will happen). They are so nice and willing to work with me to get me the best dog for my family. I'm so excited!!!!!!! I can't wait. :soexcited::woot::banana::soexcited:

That is Flame Princess from the cartoon Adventure Time. I...was not aware she was on SDN. Not sure when that happened. Must be pretty new.

I was in a weird situation a couple of years ago. My best friend got in a screaming match with a girl in the middle of the hallway in university. They hated each other. I was forced to volunteer with the girl. We made small talk and I tried to be friendly. Eventually, I got up the courage to say "I know that something bad happened between you and R. I don't know what you know about me, but I wanted to be clear that I don't think ill of you based on my friendship with R." She laughed and admitted the fight was crazy and how she still did not know how it happened.

Sometimes, when you are forced to interact with new people, it is alright to say "I know you and X talk. I just want to say that I don't think ill of you because of that." Or something along those lines. It gets the awkwardness out of the way.

Maybe I am too forward sometimes? 😛

Sounds like being a rational adult to me. It seems like no matter how old some people get they never get over the drama and bs that everyone normally attributes to high school kids. Easier to speak your mind then make a fuss over something for no good reason.
 
I find it is a lot easier to tell someone "I am not like what people think I am like. Take it or leave it" than to just pretend that nothing was ever said about me.

I adopted the philosophy that no matter what I have heard about someone, I am going to treat them kindly and get to know them before I make a judgement about their character. I hope there are some people in Ky's class that do the same! I could have easily snubbed the girl off during volunteering. She turned out to be pretty cool and the opposite of what the gossip suggests.

I find, for the most part, that people are opposite what gossip says they are.
 
Ky: forgot to mention. If you see a counsellor, you can talk to him/her about human rights violations. Schools have policies put in place to stop discrimination, racisim, bullying, etc. I do not remember all of the details. When I saw a counsellor a few years ago, the option to file one was presented to me. Since I was never threatened or bullied (I was just under a lot of stress), I did not bother going through the process. I had a friend that did though.

The outline should be in your student handbook.

Thanks, I actually did discuss this with the counselor. Based on where things are at now I decided not to file a grievance in the interest of trying to keep things civil. I like knowing that the option is there should I ever really need it, though.

She is completely moved out now 🙂 She just needs to clean the room and her bathroom, hand over the keys and it is all over. The other roommate and I are so relieved. Even our cats were in better spirits, running around and playing carefree 😍

I am thinking of going back to the school in the fall and re-taking my general chemistry. It is the only thing stopping me from getting an interview. I have to book my GRE next month. With Christmas and student loan re-payments, it is going to be difficult for me to get that paid for.
 
Internet works at my house again, I'm registered to go to SAVMA, and my friends and I are planning an awesome trip for our last spring break!
 
Doctor was good to his word about my referral. The internist's office called me today and I've got an appointment for Dec 18. Still no idea what'll happen (maybe there really is nothing wrong and I just have totally ****ty circulation), but hey, progress!

My brother is the bartender here and he's opening one in another city and will be the manager there then.

I think I'm going to apply for that (we do elections in January), but I feel like it's going to be one big popularity contest, so I probably won't get it.

The first years that ran this year actually campaigned for jr delegate. They baked us cookies and bribed us with candy. It was awesome.

wow! our jr delegate position is via application only (all the rest of the SCAVMA positions are voted on by members though)

Nope! We got em here too! I like Fuzzy's, the food is pretty good and it's cheap!


You better get lots of free tacos once you start that manager job 😀
 
as of this past summer we now have a fuzzys in the booming metropolis of Stillwater ok. I loveeee their margaritas way more than I should. especially the strawberry ones. with a corona in it.

I usually get free food right now whenever I go there after work since my brother is taking me home.

(And he is getting the manager job, not me. 😛 So he'll be living somewhere else and no more free food for me at all.)

Man, their fish tempura tacos are soooooo gooooood.

Husband was excited because he ate at one in Texas - near TCU - and liked it a lot.

My rave - done at 10am today. Feel okay about the pharm exam, so hopefully that means something. I have SO much to do this weekend, so a nap followed by tacos sounds so, so nice. Then back to business.

I got a 93% on my micro exam! It's not even a legit A, only an A-, but I'm still happy with it because it's a hard class! And I worked my butt off studying for it and the three other exams I had that week. Even missed a trip to Vegas to study. So I'm glad it all payed off! 🙂

only 11 more days until I am home and in a country that believes in drugs for medical care and not orange juice as a cure-all. i have been sick/less than healthy since october 11, and it's really, really starting to get old. (its a rave because only 11 days left in Grenada!!!!!!!!! 😀)

Physics is making sense again! My professor actually explained things yesterday and we spent most of the class going over examples, and now the homework is so easy. 🙂
 
Moved my horse to a new barn this morning and I am already 10000x happier. And so is he!

Also, just woke up from a delightful couch nap with one of my kitties. Headache is gone and I feel considerably better. Nothing like a good couch nap!

I'm better at essays than multiple choice, so it's much better for me. 😍 😍
