Sephora does free makeup?! Do you have to buy a product first?

Yeah...they've given me free makeovers before---first time I didn't even ask the girl just offered. Benefit stand in Macy's also did it for me. Kind of like a "hey I don't know what to buy, want to test it out on me?".

Bare Minerals does, too.

Someone surrendered a mastiff to the shelter today so after a long hard day of work I got mastiff cuddles. 20 minutes of a big girl stretched out on her back for belly rubs and snoring.

Since the purpose of doing "makeovers" is so you can try out products before purchasing them, I think it's generally considered appropriate to purchase at least one product they use so that you aren't completely wasting their time. I could be wrong but I'm sure they work on some sort of commission. I had someone at Sephora do my makeup a few weeks before my wedding and ended up buying a ton of stuff. I returned a few things I realized I didn't need but the gal who did my makeup seemed really happy. 🙂

Yeah..I would usually buy at least one thing after they did it, but i've also seen girls working there who are just bored and want someone to play with lol.

Yay!!!! My fiance got the job he interviewed for last week! Better hours and pay are always a good thing and totally makes up for the fact that we had 3 walk ins come in before we even officially opened this morning.

I volunteer for an animal disaster response team. We were just called for deployment. They are setting up an emergency shelter for a cat-hoarding situation.

I never thought we would actually be called for deployment. I told them my availability. Hopefully I get to help out.

oo that would be neat! we had a emergency/disaster elective this term - very cool perspective (although terrifying and sad too)

I found a house! I found a house! I found a house! and it's super cute!

I found a house! I found a house! I found a house! and it's super cute!

I just closed on my town home on Monday. Congrats on finding a place! I've been cleaning for the past three days in preparation for new paint and such. It sat empty for so long it needs airing out.

Also I purchased a Clarisonic, one of those expensive face brush things, and its so fun to use and feels like I'm giving myself a massage each time I use it.

I took my last train ride to school tonight to chat with my physics prof about my final grade. I'm super pumped/surprised about my grade. I baked my prof cookies and we had a nice heart-to-heart . And I'm actually DONE UNDERGRAD. I can't believe it. I got a little teary on the train home... It all feels much more real now. I'm going to vet school :soexcited:

Just booked tickets to see Phantom of the Opera in Her Majesty's Theatre in London during our trip to Europe! Center of fifth row in first balcony. Awesome price. I was so excited I was shaking.

Going to EDC in Chicago, about to literally rageeeee all weekend. Let's goooooo

I have a 4 day weekend!! I am so pumped!! Even though I am still house sitting, I can FINALLY get stuff done that I haven't been able to do.

LOVE Phantom of the Opera! 😍 I'm so jealous. That sounds amazing!

Went to this place called Defy Gravity, which is wall to wall trampolines. I jumped for an hour and it was super fun! If there is one near you (or place like it) you should go! Was worth the $12 🙂

Just brought home my first foster animal ever, a wild painted turtle with big plastic sutures on his shell. HBC and needs tlc + abx for the next 2-3 months. I am so excited that I get to give a few SQ injections to a turtle.

Wild painted turtles are a pain in the butt to get to eat. We've had about a million at the wildlife clinic. definitely send me a pm if you have any questions about husbandry with him! even the domestics we sometimes end up with give us a hard time. Did they use zip ties to put him back together?

I'm volunteering all weekend and next with the hoarding situation. I think we actually have to remove the animals from the apartment. I'll know in about 10 minutes :/

Yep, looks like zip ties glued to his shell. I have his "diet" here; it's quite stinky. 2 red worms, 1 frozen mysis shrimp, 2 crickets, 1 minnow, 2 leaves romaine, chopped fruit, and a cuttlebone floating in his tub. All of that every morning. Hopefully he eats well enough that it's not an issue, but I will PM you if he decides to go on a hunger strike.

edited to add: I had red-eared sliders for years growing up, but they always had big appetites no matter what. Never occurred to me that a painted turtle would be a picky eater. 😀

strawberryyy yummm 👍👍👍😍😍

An elderly client who has previously hugged me in the parking lot when I carried her cat to the car for her apparently spoke to our practice manager today for about half-an-hour (she's so nice it sometimes gets to be too much) about how sweet I am and how she's so excited for me to go to vet school and etc. etc. and wanted to know when my last day was so she could bring sweets for me and then brought cupcakes and cookies today anyway.
It was a cute moment.

has never been to five guys before....
Is it really that amazing?
(Bear in mind, I can count the number of times I've had fast food in the past couple years on one hand. Most of it is blah)

eh. I like that they have peanuts while you wait.
It's not bad and probably in the top handful of chain fast food burgers but always leaves me feeling greasy and kind of gross after.
But I think I'm in the minority with that opinion.

They have delicious fresh cut fries and greasy steak burgers with unlimited free toppings. And very crispy bacon. And fresh jalapeños. Just yum.

Five guys is awesome. I had it for lunch on Sunday! (when I was hung over and wanted something greasy and delicious )

And their fry orders are huuuuuuge. A large for $5 can seriously be enough for like 4 or 5 people.

:wow: Your first time????? :wow:

Actually my fourth. There isn't one near me so it's been about a year since I last went to one. Though to be perfectly honest, it's probably a good thing we don't have one around here because I would probably be at it all the time.

No it definitely leaves you feeling greasy and full, but it's one if the very few "fast food" places I eat because its worth it. 😀

Yeah there is one by my apartment and it's bad news.

👍 Exactly. It's like one of those super greasy delicious melty cheesy burgers you get at a state fair or something. You hate yourself a little bit afterward, but it's totally worth it because they're DELICIOUS.

Plus I like that they are cooked to order and actually taste like a fresh real beef hamburger. I won't touch the "beef" served at most fast food places, it freaks me out. :scared:

But you love every moment while eating it.

Yeah Dyachei, five guys are everywhere here too. And now In-N-Out too... Maybe it's good for my health that I'll be leaving here for school

Pretty much. We have to ration it. Only allowed to go once a month.

Gah. I really hope I can get into it next summer. Really bummed I just missed out on it. Or I really want this 3 month vet internship in South Africa through SANCCOB.
Oooooh, whasdis?? I just got done with a 13 hr class day. WHATNOW????

Five Guys, where have you been all my life?!

Yum. I went to this place called Mooyah Burger at UConn a few months ago. Very much like 5 Guys. Weird.
