I went out with two of my classmates to see Blackfish last night and we ended up going to a bar afterwards. The movie was great and I got to know them better. I originally wasn't going to go but I'm glad I did.
 
Finally got all of my laundry done for the first time since I moved here. Feels good to have a closet full of clean clothes and a freshly made bed again. 👍
 
I have officially sold my dear old Civic that served me well for almost 6 years. Sad, but happy I got more for it than I originally thought of asking!
 
I ate a whole bowl of soup for dinner tonight! Big deal as its the first real meal I've managed to force into myself since lunch on Friday. Stomach hurts a little, but hopefully I'll feel less run down tomorrow now that I've got some nutrition in my system.

I should write a book called "The Severe Gastritis Diet: Stop Eating and Never Feel Hungry". Could be the next big thing. 🙄

lol, I heard him squawk a few times and felt bad that I might be annoying him. I had soooo much laundry to do! :laugh:
 
I videochatted with my mom tonight and was told that they have a new addition to our 'zoo' back home. My sister had found a stray kitten and was feeding it for a week or two and finally decided to bring it home (though, I think it is a boy... hard to tell over my computer).

Anyway, I think my mom is turning into somewhat of a cat lady. We now have 3 cats and she has said all my life that she doesn't like them. Hahaha. He is adorable, though! Looks to be maybe 12 weeks old. She is taking him to the vet the next day or two for all the works.
 
I got my first shadowing "yes"! This Friday I am shadowing a local mixed-practice vet as he makes his large animal farm calls. Very excited. This vet is also different from others in the area in that he has a holistic medicine side to his practice, so that should be interesting as well. 👍 Looking forward to learning and seeing some of my friends at the barns when we're out and about.

Spent the day touring some farms with a handful of classmates as part of PEI's annual open farm day. We had a lot of fun, the farms were great, and it was the first incidence of nice weather we've had all week so it was wonderful to get outside for some fresh air and sunshine. I feel better than I have in weeks! 😀
 
I am pretty sure I could live off of this lentil soup I made last night. Seriously, I just want to devour the rest of the pot, like, now. om nom nom nom 😍

I did nap. I'm thinking beer. I'm about to head in there and have a few.

But before I did, I finally (yes, I hadn't yet) logged into my student loans account through my lender. It wasn't bad. I'm still praising jeebles and whatever powers may be for my cheap tuition and my sugar daddy that pays for all my cost of living stuff.
 
I KILLED my neuro exam today. I'm not sure how they graded it that fast but holy crapola. I am on cloud nine!!!!!! 😀😀😀😀😀😀

Got an A on my anatomy quiz today I thought for sure I was going to fail, got a package from my mom with the new Star Trek movie, AND picked up my gorgeous new Wii U with Windwaker HD!!! Currently waiting for it to download!

Rant: Somewhat feeling sick today, blech, and skipped out on a physiology review I probably should have gone to. But, I felt awful and picked up my Wii U a bit early instead. I'd say that is a win-win situation!
 
Not really a rave, but it means something to me.... so

This is my new tattoo.....

It is a tribute to my late dog..... it has a very deep meaning between him & I.... the tattoo ink had his ashes mixed in...

Devyn, that looks awesome, and it's amazing you could have ashes incorporated into it. Really meaningful!

My rave is that something finally went right for my husband. Now if only he could get a few residency interviews... He's trying to do (human) ortho. Should be an exciting ride to match day.
 
Had a terrific lady day with my best friend yesterday involving throwing pottery, making dinner and drinking wine and watching TV. Then this morning we went to the farmers market and I bought all the delicious things!!!! Now I'm going to go buy a new litter box to fit in the trunk I am turning into a litter box hidey for my cats and more food so I can cook a whole bunch of things to eat for the next few weeks. And maybe go shoe shopping.
That is all!
Also! I don't have any exams this week. Life doesn't suck right now. It is very exciting.
 
Ravens just won, got great feedback from my rotations leaders on Friday, and had a really great "laugh until you cry moment" with friends 😀
 
Got to spend the day with Hubs and the kiddo after 6 days of not getting home until bedtime. Cooking, long walk, fall weather with the windows open, chores done, and time to relax. 😍

Saw my orthopedic dr today and am getting scheduled for an arthroscopy. Why is this a rave? I've had worsening knee pain since May and MRI keeps coming up negative. This is a good way to find out what's wrong and fix it. Also, he refilled my pain meds so I may be able to sleep through the night again.
 
Pumpkin Smores popsicle from local pop shop.
And petting sitting some piggies I watched last year in a few weeks. They're super easy to take care of despite needing daily meds and I always love a little extra $$$.

I think they might be able to save the data on my laptop before starting it over, and I won't have to switch to windows 8. And all I need to do is be without the laptop for a week, which I was expecting anyway when it crashed.
 
Kinda felt like a rock star today. I'm on clinical orientation (one week in clinics on a rotation shadowing a fourth year) and I'm on small animal internal medicine 😍

Well, the head of the small animal hospital and basically my idol (as she is boarded in medicine and nutrition) brought in her little Frenchie for a cytso. She let me do the blind stick while she restrained her own dog... And I got it on the first stick, no redirect needed! I'm so used to doing them with an ultrasound, I was nervous about doing it blind.

It was an awesome feeling. 😀

I kicked absolute butt on my first 3 exams this semester. WOOHOO!!!!
 
Got pulled over this morning for rolling through a stop sign on a divided highway...and got let off! Who gets let off from campus police?! I wanted to tell him "thank you for not forcing me to take out more loan money. Is this like a scholarship?" Anyways, I should have been ticketed because I roll through stop signs all the time on divided highways. I am very surprised he let me go because I have been ticketed before for not stopping. 😀
 
Who got awesome selectives? this girl. she got awesome selectives. After I get through this HELLISH pharmacology test in an hour, i'll celebrate.

(Ferret medicine and raptor medicine! Furritos and birds of prey! Cannot wait for real classes to be over and to get to that. 😀)

:laugh: My best friend (other DVM/PhD student) really wanted ferret medicine and now is gonna have to wait like 5 years to take it (because of the time out for PhD...).
