RAVE HERE thread

sorry i’m dumb- you agree with the name change or you agree with me not understanding their name change? it was way more iconic as it was originally! way more memorable !
I think she agrees with you not understanding the name change. It was def a fun name originally

Jumping on the "rave more" bandwagon: I went to a free gym class this morning and loved it. Went very well, didn't feel out of my depth, and I got help if I needed it. I'm actually very competitive, but they make it competitive against yourself rather than each other. It's the gym franchise that likes the color orange and I haven't had a single close friend dislike it.

It's pricey, but I think I'm going to go for it.

I know this is the prevet forum not premed but I'm going to rave about it here because I'm prevet and the premeds scare me.
My partner GOT INTO MEDICAL SCHOOL!!! This is his second cycle and he is so deserving. I am so so proud of him.
The school is 6 hours from UTCVM (where i was accepted) and 3.5 hours from UFCVM (where i was interviewed and hope to be accepted) so it wouldn't be across the country for us. He was accepted to the class of 2031 since 2030 was full, so he could move with me and help me adjust my first year! This is the first school he has heard back from post interview and I am so impressed and proud and genuinely RAVING.

Yayyy congrats!!! What a power couple 🙂

Thank you all! Mission 1: we both get into professional school is complete. Next up mission 2: we get into schools close to each other. We hear back about the first potential option hopefully this week (I got into cornell, he interviewed at another school in upstate New York!)!

I did my first spay ever last week for my jr surgery course, and I finally got my results back. I passed with flying colors!! 🤩 I wasn't expecting to feel so calm during the whole procedure but I actually really enjoyed finally being able to cut (my lower back said otherwise, tips appreciated) lol

Maybe lift the table higher if possible? 🤔
Second this. I have to have my clinics table as high up as possible. I also try to have the animal closer to the edge I’m standing by vs the center of the table so I’m not leaning as far. And then just constant reminders from myself to stop hunching

The deep or spread stance. My boss has artifical discs in his back so we are the master of back pain minimalizing tricks at my work

As everyone has said:
Table up
Animal close to your side of the table
Make sure your instrument table is high too
Straight posture
Squat/deep stance-spread your legs out to the side as needed to drop your full body to the appropriate height
Good shoes+/-inserts
Squish mat-if you have the option
Sit in a well supported chair when you get out into practice for those lower procedures
