sorry i’m dumb- you agree with the name change or you agree with me not understanding their name change? it was way more iconic as it was originally! way more memorable !
I think she agrees with you not understanding the name change. It was def a fun name originally

Jumping on the "rave more" bandwagon: I went to a free gym class this morning and loved it. Went very well, didn't feel out of my depth, and I got help if I needed it. I'm actually very competitive, but they make it competitive against yourself rather than each other. It's the gym franchise that likes the color orange and I haven't had a single close friend dislike it.

It's pricey, but I think I'm going to go for it.

I know this is the prevet forum not premed but I'm going to rave about it here because I'm prevet and the premeds scare me.
My partner GOT INTO MEDICAL SCHOOL!!! This is his second cycle and he is so deserving. I am so so proud of him.
The school is 6 hours from UTCVM (where i was accepted) and 3.5 hours from UFCVM (where i was interviewed and hope to be accepted) so it wouldn't be across the country for us. He was accepted to the class of 2031 since 2030 was full, so he could move with me and help me adjust my first year! This is the first school he has heard back from post interview and I am so impressed and proud and genuinely RAVING.

Yayyy congrats!!! What a power couple 🙂

Thank you all! Mission 1: we both get into professional school is complete. Next up mission 2: we get into schools close to each other. We hear back about the first potential option hopefully this week (I got into cornell, he interviewed at another school in upstate New York!)!

I did my first spay ever last week for my jr surgery course, and I finally got my results back. I passed with flying colors!! 🤩 I wasn't expecting to feel so calm during the whole procedure but I actually really enjoyed finally being able to cut (my lower back said otherwise, tips appreciated) lol

Maybe lift the table higher if possible? 🤔
Second this. I have to have my clinics table as high up as possible. I also try to have the animal closer to the edge I’m standing by vs the center of the table so I’m not leaning as far. And then just constant reminders from myself to stop hunching

The deep or spread stance. My boss has artifical discs in his back so we are the master of back pain minimalizing tricks at my work

As everyone has said:
Table up
Animal close to your side of the table
Make sure your instrument table is high too
Straight posture
Squat/deep stance-spread your legs out to the side as needed to drop your full body to the appropriate height
Good shoes+/-inserts
Squish mat-if you have the option
Sit in a well supported chair when you get out into practice for those lower procedures

I’ve been ranting a lot - so I should balance with a rave.

Got my hair done today and I almost feel like a human again! Someone in the lobby called me “the cutest little pregnant lady” and I don’t realize how much I needed that after feeling like a swollen zombie.

Going on 38 weeks and ready to have this baby!

For the love of dog, don't let the baby go to 8 days late. True zombie status then

Oh no. I’ve already made it clear to my OB I want to be induced if I get to 40 weeks. They don’t seem to think I will though due to baby’s size. Pray for me, I hurt everywhere 😂

There's a whole story, but basically my induction got bumped by 24 hours. Then I showed up already in labor, and then he just hung out another 10 hours. Went to IKEA with my parents to get bookshelves and walking around IKEA at 40 weeks is basically what pushed me into labor 🤣

Idk how you did it but hats off to ya

I only went to 38+4 and I was dying lol

Basically, I was an idiot. 🤣 They asked if I wanted to be induced at my 40 week appt. and said, "Nah, it's fine!" Two days later, regrets. Could have even tried to do matchy-matchy birthdays between Husband and Child. But we asked too late cause Husband was indecisive.

That was the first pregnancy. For neice-daughter, I told my BIL/SIL that my two requirements to carry that pregnancy for them was 1) genetic test and 2) induction at 40 weeks. So she was only 4 days late

I don't know how my mom dealt with me being mood slime for an extra 10 days. I was supposed to be an August baby, but decided I liked September better. My mom apparently didn't even notice anything wrong until she walked into her doctor's office for a post-birth check-up and the doctor jumped out of his seat in shock when he saw she was still pregnant.

I have no idea how anyone deals with being pregnant. Hats off to you all.

My sweet little cat had a single tooth extracted.
She is doing well and recovering at home! :biglove:

She loves her transdermal buprenorphine, you know the side effects ... non-stop loving, rolling around on the floor and super-super-affectionate!

A big shout-out of appreciation and admiration to her veterinary dentist and amazing team - thank you!

Going back to this - We haven't gotten this far in discussions with my OB yet, but I can already barely walk or get in/out of my car (stupid pubic symphisis diastasis). Like it's getting hard to work already at 31 weeks. I am feeling pain in areas I've never even felt feelings in before (is this turning into a rant? lol). I might see how early I can get induced based off of that alone

I mean... I had a c-section and gestational hypertension so you don't wanna be me.
But also I likely have gestational hypertension that we discovered in the ER last night (we are fine, except the hypertension!). So maybe that's going to wrap things up early for me anyways. Last night my systolic was in the 140s/low 150s consistently, but that was also in a hospital...gonna be measuring twice a day at home now

It's honestly never too early. For Toddler Bats, I came up pretty early because his original birthday was supposed to be 4 days before his dad. So my doc offered to have an induction scheduled for the day before to time matchy matchy birthdays. So bring it up at your next appointment!! If you're that uncomfortable, baby is fully baked at 36 weeks, so why suffer the extra 4 weeks?

This seems so crazy to me. Not the matchy matchy birthdays, just the idea that you can basically choose what day to have your kid and that the answer isn't 'let the baby come when it comes.'

My next appt is this coming Tuesday so aside from the hypertension, we'll have to talk about the fact that I can't friggin walk anymore. The downside is that if the real answer is to stop working, I burn through my PTO that was supposed to be part of my 'maternity leave.' I do think my job would let me stick to desk work and easier procedures though.

Yeah, gestational hypertension might do it. My understanding is if they diagose hypertension they prefer to get 37 weeks if you're stable but don't like to wait past that.

I wasn't diagnosed until 38+3 (borderline my whole pregnancy before that) so I got a next day delivery.

The good news is my blood pressure was back to normal literally right after delivery.

I actually have a fun birthday because I was a c-section and my mom picked it.

Meanwhile when I was setting up a csection (and prior to that planning for likely induction) I was like... what is the earliest option? I did want to get to 38 weeks but beyond that I wanted baby out as soon as they deemed it safe.
