I have received a few interviews and acceptances by now.
However, unfortunately, I am still not hearing from my first choice schools.
I am especially waiting for Columbia.

Do you think it's worthwhile to retake DAT in early January to send to Columbia?
My GPA is above their average, (3.66 sci) with average research, volunteer, and etc.
And, I have DAT score of 23AA 22TS 27PAT (above 20 on every section).

I know Columbia cares DAT the most, and I guess my score isn't high enough for this year. And, I am thinking about retaking it once more. I am very confident that I can get higher score if I prepare for my second DAT (although never sure, hopefully above 26) by early January.

Spending three weeks for DAT again at this time period is certainly huge sacrifice for my social life, and it requires some pledge. Do you think it's worth a try to send improved score by January to get an interview from Columbia? Does Columbia accept large number of students post-december, in January and February?

No to the retake.. 23 vs 26 I think its matter of 3~5 questions difference? I wouldn't risk that....
Not too sure about it, but I think I saw pre-dec vs post-dec interviews % rougly 60ish for predecember and 30 ish for post december.

I see that there are not much actual difference between 23 and 26.
But, I am quite sure I can do better than the first time, since I was not in a good condition at all while taking the first one.

My question is.. if I send another score of, lets say, 25 to Columbia by mid-January, is it going to help a lot to get an interview by that time?

call school and find out why you haven't hear anything yet!!

Columbia would probably be wrapping up their interviews by sending invites for interviews in February by the time you'd send them your score. Most importantly, a retake is really unnecessary.

Your DAT is not the reason you haven't been accepted to Columbia. Majority of people attending there do not have a greater than 23 DAT. I am having a hard time believing you are serious about retaking the test.

This thread is like a twilight zone moment right now.

I had a first day interview at Columbia and was accepted. My DAT score was 24, so it was almost the same as yours. There must be some other reason you have not heard from them yet.

I see you trollin'..

In all seriousness though, retaking and scoring higher on DAT this late in the game will not guarantee you an interview from Columbia... Trust me, I got 24 AA and 25 TS on my DAT and I still havent heard anything from them. If I were you, I would just wait it out; I hear theyre still giving out interviews.
