Hi all,

I didn't do so hot on my last DAT (AA 19, but two very low scores in the 16s). I'm really looking to improve on my PAT and GChem (both of which I got the 16s).

What can yall recommend? For PAT, also, I want to really learn some techniques or have some sort of guide/tutorial if that makes sense...? I hear CDP is too easy (which is what I used and I have to agree) so I'm here on the forums begging for help!

Thanks!

I'm looking, even more specifically, for help with Keyholes and TFE (they were damn hard on the exam).

I tried the DAT Bootcamp exam, it's a bit too much (keyhole shapes are not representative, TFE is ok compared to what I had).

This is my third re-take... so I need help!!!

My advice is totally based upon my experience only...Use CDP but change your strategy...Basically...focus on getting a perfect sore on things that you are comfortable with....for example ....I personally felt that the TFE was easier on the real thing than CDP. As far as keyhole is concerned then...yes I agree it was harder than I had expected. Before I went in for my DAT...I knew that TFE and Pattern folding were my weakest so I tried to work on it....but I worked EVEN harder at getting a perfect score on other sections like cube counting, hole punch, and at some point angles too (which was easier on the real thing than CDP). These three sections balanced my three weak one.

As far as "tutoring" help...youtube has some PAT videos...that is what I used...😀

P.S: I didn't rock the PAT section but this is how I handled it.

Hope it helped. 😀

Sometimes a bit too much is what you need. I agree that DAT bootcamp is hard, but if you can master all 5 PAT tests, you will be very well prepared for the real DAT. I had the exact same experience you did with CDP. I scored 20-23 on all 10 CDP tests, got a 17 on my first real PAT. Went through all 75 keyhole problems on DATbootcamp, and a bunch of the TFE, then took bootcamp test, got a 20. 21 on real PAT.

The GC section helps a lot too. Yeah, it's just one more expense to get both upgrades, but it really is worth it. Honestly, I'm so glad I spend the money for it - was a worthwhile investment.

Achiever PAT is good for overkill as well. If you can do decent on that then you'll think the real DAT is a joke.

Spend some time with Chad's videos for GC. Then practice using DAT bootcamp I think these guys have excellent tests as far as the chemistry sections are involved. Best of luck
