hi guys,

i applied to nyu for the 2010 cycle. i requested the toefl scores to be sent to nyu on dec 4th and toefl mailed them to nyu on dec 15....still nyu hasnt recieved them. what do i do? my application wont be completed till they get the report. new reports will take 3 weeks to be sent. please suggest me wht to do.

When u know that Toefl released the score report by Dec 14, then even u might have recieved a copy of that. If NYU says that it won't accept ur application, then send them that. Nd also there will be diff address[ room num] for international dentist program[ pg programs] nd advanced standing[ 2year dds program]. S by mistake u might have written the wrong address.

Me too mailed my toefl in august but they didn't get that. it was mistake of ets.

It is the big problem of ets, i sent my toefl in august but till november they didn't have it as it was not ordered yet and they resent without asking me to pay 17$. It really shocks the person.

This is very common with ETS. I would say that if you are a future applicant then please please PLEASE make sure that you order ATLEAST 5 copies each of TOEFL AND NBDE score and get it delivered to YOUR HOUSE! I had a situation where I called a school one day after deadline and they had not received my TOEFL score yet, luckily the committee had not reviewd the applications and the wonderful secretary let me overnight my score to her office and later I got an interview and even got accepted. I could only do this because I made sure I had extra copies of both scores. so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE...be SMART and order copies for yourself and keep them for emergency use! GOOD LUCK!

I think for now the only solution is to call the school and tell them your problem,maybe they accept your delay and u can order your score report again!

thank you everyone for helping me out. i wasnt aware that many faced this problem. ets has forwarded a new copy, but it might take time. i went to nyu yesterday, but they said thet not much can be done unless tehy recieve my scores.

so, as toothfairy suggested, i am going to order extra copies of both the reports, for future need. till then just hoping that somehow they might recieve my toefl soon.

i did check on the dept codes. i thing institution code is 2597 and dept code is 38. pls correct me if wrong.

i did order them online , and i do have the order no. ets says they have mailed it on 15 dec. the problem is i think , i sent the toefl out too soon. i updated caapid on 4th jan( i guess toefl reached earlier). and toefl report is in my maiden name.i did make nyu aware of the name change though. but still they dont have it. i did what i could. rest is in gods hands.

Nyu does not really make the connection between maiden name and married name.I had to email them and call them to tell them this and they found my report. I have been going crazy for last 3 months because apparently none of my 3 toefl scores reached them and it was absurd. Thank god i called them to clarify the maiden name thing because for all this time i thought they would connect 2 and 2 together, esp because they specifically ask you "if any other names have been used in the past".
I think its very careless of them but again the person who sorts the reports does not care , we are just one of the thousands of applicants.
Call them!!!

even i thought the same thing but they do not have it in the maiden name too, thats why i am freaking out. i did e mail them the maiden name and my marriage certificate, but they do not seem to have it. i am getting very worried now.
