i agree but its a fact that d-schools look down on pre-reqs taken at CCs.

what do you think if i mentioned it that ahead of time in the personal essay?

i wouldnt... they can see where your pre reqs come from from your application. you could always write about how you had to work through school just word it carefully. the best advice is rock the DATs to show that you learned something from your classes. most d-school websites say that they prefer pre reqs from a 4 year college but some wont even consider your application if you took your pre reqs at a CC (Tufts).

Yea, I've heard of Tufts doing that so I'm skipping them next cycle. Any other ones? I currently have a FT career and simply can't just take time off in the middle of the day just to take 1 class for 1 school. I don't want my boss to be on the alert that I'm switching career.

Ok guys.. I am digging this thread back up..

I am having such a hard time deciding whether to retake the DAT. My scores are 20/21/21.

I know they are decent, but wish they could be better. I thought I would be able to study again and do better.. but after a few weeks of studying I am facing the reality that maybe i can't do much better and what if I do worst, it'll be like sucide. Should i take the risk and play with my chances or just play it safe and not retake them.

As mentioned in my first post I did take all my pres. at a CC, but this summer I've enrolled in upper division Bio classes at a local university and will try to do at least 2-4 more classes there if i can. Hopefully that will improve my Application a little.

But yeah.. Please share your opinions on my DAT ordeal.. Thanks so much!!!

I read through the first page of this thread and there was a lot of talk about retaking DAT's, "do retake it, "dont retake it" and so on. I myself am wondering if I should retake the DAT. As most of u prob. already know u have 3 yrs to apply with your DAT until it is no longer valid. This coming 08 application cycle will be the last time I can use my dat score. At one of my interviews this cycle my interviewer told me my gpa and everything was fine. According to him, my primary problem was that my DAT score was too old....the scores themselves were fine he said...it had just been too long since I took the test. So now Im trying to decide whether or not to retake the DAT this summer. Wut do u guys think....its pretty much the most logical and affordable and quickest way for me to improve my application...even if i get the same scores it still demonstrates my knowledge and ability to take the DAT.

thanks for the help

my scores aa/ts/pa 20/21/17
