Seriously, I don't know how it was across the rest of the country, but for some reason, it was Trauma Leap Year here.
Yes, it was slightly warmer, but still, this is ridiculous.

Sedation day again in the pedi ER.

One posterior knee abscess in need of I&D, one peritonsillar abscess.

Needless to say, the knee I&D was significantly smoother than the bedside peritonsillar abscess.

The ENT resident is nice, but technically lacking.

Oh well. Both kids now admitted and breathing, so I'll count that as success.

Wimps work day shift.

Only the strong rock the night!

palliative care/oncology is getting to me... the people who do it are absolutely incredibly and I am in awe of what they do.... it's just something that I personally am not capable of doing every day

You can count on me. I've got a widget installed on my dashboard solely for this purpose!

I try not to look at it very often . . .

I don't understand why Floridians are so upset, they knew they would lose their delegates if they moved up their elections

anyhoo, sorry I haven't been post-padding much

and hi mcninja...I wasn't ignoring you!

I like March.

It means that the viral winter season should be ending.

Of course, that just means that the enteroviral season is starting.

Eh, whatever. :D

“Oh squiggly line in my eye fluid;
I see you there lurking on the periphery of my vision.
But when i try to look at you,
you scurry away.
Are you shy, squiggly line?
Why only when i ignore you, do you return to the centre of my eye?
Oh squiggly line!
It’s alright;
You are forgiven.”

palliative care and end of life rotation at the cacner hospital

i admire oncologists.... the attendings i have worked with have been magnificent

No one is ever on here anymore. No one is probably on their off month still.

Tried to get my taxes done today at Jackson Hewitt. Ten minutes into the ordeal, I realized that I didn't have much confidence in the preparer's abilities. Fifteen minutes in, I apologized, gathered my papers and left.

I hate tax time.

<--- dreading the thought of doing my own taxes

haha...Every year I mean to learn and every year my mom does them for me. I told her she will just get paid to do them when I start making money.

In the interest of fairness, the local manager at Jackson Hewitt just called me back and asked if I would consider coming back. I thanked him for calling, but stated that I would need to think about it.

I wonder what sort of training one needs to work at a place like that?

The manager stated he was a CPA, but I know the man from earlier today was not.

How is 2nd year treating you?
