Not that I'm complaining or freaking out, but over the past week I haven't been notified by any programs. I was wondering if it is just me, or have others noticed this as well. Maybe it is just that the early programs have given interviews and now we are all just waiting for the majority of programs to decide. Good luck to everyone. I have appreciated the comraderie between all the posters on this board. Best Wishes.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. So many of the programs have early or mid october deadlines. I have a feeling things are going to pick up quick within a few weeks.

Yeah...I've noticed this too. I got 3 offers within about a week, but none for the past two weeks. I think there are programs that immediately send out invitations too candidates on kind of a rolling basis, and then those that wait until their deadline passes to send out waves of invitations. So, maybe in the next week or so things will pick back up.

I am experienceing exact same thing- 5 interviews over 10 days, last one last Friday and nothing this week. I was told by a good friend who unfortunately did not match last year that he got a bulk of his interviews within 1 week in the middle of October. So I guess it should not be that long.

I think you guys are pretty much right on. I was talking to my school's residency office staff...and they informed me that applications are passed on to faculty only after the oct. 12th deadline. After this date faculty have one week to review their respective stacks of applications, and interviews are offered after this review. The rational behind it was to ensure everybody applying has an equal chance, despite when the application was submitted.

Hence, I guess it's reasonable to assume other schools employ a similar system in reviewing applications.

I agree with you all about the recent slowdown in interview requests. I was depressed for a while but after reading your post I feel better.
