Can any of you share how you sent your letters of recommendation?

I'm very new to this and have no idea how to use interfolio or virtual evals. Did anyone just get their professors to send them by mail?

I'm trying to figure out how to give instructions to my professors.

Thanks in advance!!!

Use Interfolio. Interfolio sends your letter writer an email with specific instructions for how to submit a letter for you. The hard part is actually getting your writer's attention and staying on them about getting it done.

I thought it would be helpful to give each of my letter writers a little info packet with my CV, what classes I took with them and grades received, and why I was interested in podiatry. I put my contact info in the packet as well so they could get in touch if something went wrong or if they had any questions. Worked well for me.

I also used Interfolio. You can upload documents to your document storage center in interfolio and that way you can always send them (while waiving your rights) to any school, application service, etc. I sent my professors/physician mentor a formal email request for a recommendation and provided my professional and academic aspirations as context. I attached my resume and my personal statement for their reference and a list of schools I was applying to. Then I told them that they would receive a request from me from interfolio with the instructions on how to upload the document to my interfolio document management center. I also stated that I had waived my rights to the letter. I copied and pasted this same email and put it in the email request form provided by interfolio. The system has been great. basically all the schools are already in the interfolio system, so when you send them out, the address and everything autopopulates and the schools receive the packet of letters basically the minute you request for it to be sent. hope this helps!

I had all my letter writers make 7 sealed copies. I then mailed those myself to the 7 schools I applied to because I'm old school and trusted snail mail more than the internet. I had no issues

Thank you all for your responses, you all helped me x a million.

I really appreciate it 😍
