I was wondering whether anyone has heard of any acceptances from Yale, or only rejections? Its funny that they send out the rejections first...

Also has anyone heard anything back from Harvard...I am getting really impatient to hear back fromt them..:scared:

I haven't heard anything from Yale - only that they received all of my application materials (1/3/2013). I am thinking of sending them an e-mail asking about timeline.

I am really waiting to hear from BU... it is currently my top choice and my application was forwarded to the committee for review on 1/4/2013 (Mailed 12/19).

Haven't heard ANYTHING from Columbia.

guys, anyone knows anything about the epidemiology master program at VCU ?

Iam a fulbright scholarship finalist, and fulbright committee applied for me to that school, as I don't know anything about the school, iam really wondering if it is worth travelling abroad for it, and iam thinking of reconsidering my choices here in my country.

any info about the school will be helpful

thanks

The Fulbright can require you to go to a specific school? Why not go elsewhere, perhaps a place that you might have more information on so you can make an informed decision? This is not to say that VCU is not a great program. It may very well be well-respected. However, as a Fulbright applicant, I thought you can chose to go wherever so long as the school agrees to it, which, I assume, would be virtually any school.

We will likely not hear from Harvard until late February/early March. This is the way the ball rolls for Harvard. Also, it is my understanding (based on last year's threads) that Harvard will give out rejections before giving out acceptances.

Haven't heard ANYTHING from Columbia.

You probably will not hear from BU until early February. The time between the e-mail receipt and the decision was about 4 weeks for me. Given the holiday, I thought this was rather quick. I am sure you will hear in time.

I also applied to Columbia. I do not expect to hear from them until an actual decision is made. It is my understanding that they do not send confirmation e-mails. If they do, that would be a big surprise to me.

For me any questions I ask schools will usually be answered with something vague like "still under review" or "usually 7 to 8 weeks." This is why I do not ever ask schools. We are anxious, for all the obvious reasons. Contacting them, however, will not change anything. Let the history speak for itself: most decisions come out from mid-February to mid-March.

There is still plenty of time irrespective of when you submitted it - and even if you submitted early.

I e-mailed back a forth with a woman from Yale's admissions office, and she said I would hear back from them in 2-3 weeks with a decisions.....

.....Unfortunately, this conversation occurred over a month ago....😡😡😡

So I have no clue when I'll be hearing from them.

Thanks guys...look like a really long wait ahead of me...I guess I have to be patient...🙂

@gumbyj...BU has sent its acceptances only after 7.5 weeks or 8 weeks after sending the app for review...so I would say it would take another 4-5 weeks..

no they can not require me to go to any school in particular, and VCU is only one of four universities iam supposed to be applied to, of these 4 i recommended 2 schools ( Minnesota and texas) but they told me that they have the right to take my recommendation into consideration, or not

what really concerns me is the other universities to which my papers are applied to could be at the same situation as this one, that is: i cannot know anything about them!

This is really disappointing as i thought i was in agood condition , gre 311, gpa above 3, 2 years of experience as a physician, and a very good essays, besides the fully funded scholarship

Congrats what987!

Just got a second e-mail from Yale (same as last week) saying my application is complete. Haha, it kills me when I see a new e-mail from YSPH!

Just got accepted in to Minnesota's Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology program 😀

Congrats on your acceptances!!!!
on another note I just noticed that a few people had posted that they got accepted for biostats phd in UW(gradcafe)....Hopefully UW will send acceptances soon for the MPH programs too...

Berkeley and Harvard, can you just admit me already so I can make a decision? 😉

That's how I feel. I know I probably won't be accepted into those schools due to my lack of work experience in the field, but I'd still like to know before making a decision. But apparently they like to wait until a month after most other schools send out letters.

Good luck to everyone! This waiting game is awful 🙁

Quick question: do schools typically respond if they receive your application after SOPHAS sent it out? I heard back from 2 schools but not the others and am wondering if I should contact them to double check...

Congrats on your acceptance!

From my experience, all schools have sent me some confirmation of receiving my application. Some schools are much quicker to respond than others, though. For example, Tulane and Boston University both sent me emails saying they received my application immediately. Whereas Emory and Drexel sent responses a few weeks afterwards.

Berkeley will not give you notification, only when something is missing with your application materials. Otherwise, trust that they have it. In any case not all schools will notify you. If they do not, it does not mean they do not have your application.

Congrats! I am waiting on BU's merit package, as well, though I suspect it will not make that much of a dent on the mountainous tuition.

So..I just checked Wolverine Access and had a link to "View Decision" under application status that has never been there before and it seems I've been accepted to Michigan! But I know in the past they have always sent emails before posting the decision on Wolverine Access so i'm a bit confused but glad I was obsessive enough to check the website despite being told I'd get an email first 🙂 SO excited. Congrats to everyone on recent acceptances!

Anyone else applying HBHE might want to check the website!

Emory is notoriously stingy about scholarships, but they do offer financial aid packages in the physical mailing, I believe.

Nothing on my Wolverine Access yet, but I just got this email...

"On behalf of the Admissions Committee, I am pleased to inform you that we have recommended you for admission to our MPH Program in General Epidemiology. Congratulations!..."

Otherwise I don't think they would have invited us to admitted student's day.

I checked online to find out, maybe there's just something wrong with the website? Also check to see if your popups are enabled.
