hmm

No I haven't either. I did receive an email from them inviting me to a financial aid webinar.

For those of you that have been accepted to UNC, I emailed the Health Behavior office today asking for clarification about acceptance deadlines. My admissions letter had a deadline of 2/12/2013. The Student Services Manager said that we have until April 15 to accept the admissions offer despite the confusing wording of the letter. She also said that we should hear about funding/financial aid opportunities in the next few weeks.

Thanks for posting this! Did they say why it had 2/12 on the letter? Also did they say if they mail anything, or is all communication through email?

I also applied to UW, specifically the Community-Oriented Public Health Practice (COPHP) program. They told me they wouldn't review applications until early February and that I wouldn't receive an admissions decision until mid-late February. This program only admits 14 people though and places a lot of emphasis on getting the right mix of people, so their process may differ from other departments. They're my first choice school so waiting is hard!

I see, they told me their EOH program to which I'm applying only accepts a few people as well, which makes me really anxious considering how many applicants are applying to all the different MPH programs at UW. Good luck to you! I guess February isn't too bad.

Does anyone know how/when Michigan sends potential scholarship offers? Do they send them with the initial offer for admission, or do they potentially come at a later date? My admissions offer didn't mention a scholarship, so I am just assuming that I am not being considered for one...

Anyone else hear about $ from Michigan?

Not yet! i guess they have not enough fund for int. students 🙁

She didn't say why it had 2/12 in the letter, just that they recognize that's confusing (she apologized for that). The letter came from the UNC Graduate School and not the HB department itself, so they must not have control over the content. I didn't ask if they send anything via mail so I'm not sure. I haven't received anything via snail mail yet, but the email about the decision just came on Saturday.

Thanks, good luck to you too! Hopefully the review processes for both of our concentrations won't take too long!

I have just admitted into MPH program in Epidemiology department at University of Pittsburgh ( of course without any word about funding opportunity)

Its been nearly 10 weeks since BU confirmed that my application was complete and was being sent to review. How long did it take for you guys to get your decisions? The website says it should take 6-8 weeks. Think its worth contacting them?

I got into Minnesota's Policy and Administration program but I just got a rejection letter from their Community Health program. I assumed that the policy one is more competitive to get into so i thought this was weird- any thoughts?

Both Michigan and Pitt send out funding letters separately from admissions decisions. I certainly haven't given up on funding, I think it will be a while before we hear though. From what I understand, Pitt doesn't actually consider you for funding until after the confirmation deadline--so they know whoever they are offering funding to is actually attending Pitt.
Very frustrating method since I know funding will be a big deciding factor for many of us, but that is what I was told by the BCHS department. As much as I love Pitt's program--it'll be difficult to decide to go there when I have financial offers at other schools.

That seems so counterproductive. No matter how much I like a school, I'm not going to attend on the CHANCE of getting something.

Just got offered a half-tuition Dean's Scholarship to Michigan! Timeline-wise, I got the email about being recommended for admission on January 11th and then the official admission email on January 18th.

I know, right? They crazy.

Also, has anyone heard back from Michigan's HMP program? It's been 3 weeks since my interview took place.

OMG!!! congrates. 🙂 are you a int./local student?

Hey did anyone hear back from any MHA programs? Specifically Johns Hopkins?

Thank you! I'm a domestic student, but I'm not from Michigan. My dad thinks that any scholarship might qualify me for in-state tuition, but I haven't received a reply from the admissions people about that yet. Here's hoping!

So, it's been a week since my SOPHAS application was mailed to my school designations and I haven't received a confirmation email from Michigan, Columbia, UIC or South Carolina. Can anyone share whether they received one/how long it took to receive one?

Thanks!

Columbia doesn't send any kind of confirmations. I emailed them about 2 weeks after my application was mailed to them and they sent me back an email saying they had received it, but from these forums, I've found that if you don't ask, they won't say anything.

Does Michigan always do interviews?

I sent my application on 1/5 and SOPHAS mailed on 1/9.. then I only received one letter from Yale on 1/11 that they are reviewing it. No emails after that..

I meant UMN not Pitts, hav'nt heard from them yet!

Hey did anyone hear back from any MHA programs? Specifically Johns Hopkins?

Hey,
I got an admit at Pitt and I have an interview with Georgetown soon. You should check out the MHA Acceptance Thread. Some of them have heard from VCU and UNC too. Not so sure about JHU.
