I just got rejected from SUNY! Im really nervous that I havent heard from other schools and gotten an interview yet. Im starting to lose hope completely!! Any Advice??

Try not to panic. Did SUNY reject you completely or did they offer an interview first?

Complete rejection...Im from Canada if that makes any difference? I know they are a public school so only accept a few out of country students...but still I dont know, I really hope I get an interview at PCO, Nova, or NECO..

By the way..are some schools easier or harder to get into? Im just wondering, what are the easier schools?

Should I maybe start applying to other schools too in case?

I was rejected twice at Waterloo.

My first midterm at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry is October 7th, 2008.

I also got rejected from Waterloo a couple of years ago... I was thinking about what PreOpt said...Not too sure if I should give Waterloo another try.

Could you tell me what your stats were? Did you find out why you got rejected in the past?

Sorry to hear that! Did they tell you why? My Gosh, I have the same stats as you minus the OAT (which I havent completed).

I'm so worried now!!! I think I shoudl postpone my OAT!!!

Rejected!! They actually tell you that before the cycle ends, my gosh thats not very nice. I dont think being canadian matters that much they have one of the higher out of state acceptances i beleive than other schools. I got an interview and Im canadian so i dono you case sounds extreme and unfortunate. sry

actually last year they only had 3% students that were not from the US...thats like...what? 4 or 5 students??

Other schools that are private like ICO, PCO, NECO etc..they have no preference for US students or not...

oh man..am i the ONLY one who's gotten rejected somewhere so far..

I would not take the rejection from SUNY that seriously if I were you.... unless you have near bottom crap scores. SUNY rejects people quickly because you don't meet their initial standards in GPA/ OAT. You'll probably get an interview somewhere if you've already applied this early. be patient and if you call the schools don't sound desperate : )

Well, new optometry schools are opening up in the states, so now the chances of being admitted to an optometry school are higher then ever.

Why would I apply to puerto rico? My stats arent THAT bad...when I was finding out about Optometry when I first became interested...the schools told me my 3.0-3.1 gpa from my university would be competitive...and I got 350 on the OAT...so i dont think im that desperate...
