rejection letters?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I received a rejection letter. It's been my only 'official' rejection so far. The school wasn't TMDSAS though, so I have no idea if they work the same way.

Do schools (specifically TMDSAS) usually send rejection letters, or is it more of a "wait until the interview cycle is over and give up" sort of thing?

It's some of both (although I can't speak to TSDSAS specifically). But there are a lot of 'wait and hear' type sleeper-rejections. Maybe almost half. C'est la vie.

No rejection letters so far, though one of my schools did send an elderly man to my house with a box with a red button in it. The man told me that if I pushed the button two things would happen.

First, somewhere in the world, someone I did not know, would die.

Second, I would be recieve an acceptance to their medical school.

That man was from my top choice and dream school USUHS, so I was tempted as hell to push that button.

BUT in the end I told the man that no med school was worth another person's life, even a complete stranger's.

He asked me if I was absolutely sure, that this was a once in a lifetime offer. I told him it was my final answer.

He reached out to shake my hand and told me, "congratulations, welcome to the Army program at USUHS".

He explained that the offer of acceptance was only conditional and the button pusher had to meet physical health standards. The pusher was also placed on a list, of people who had pushed the button and whom the next person to push would result in their death.

Upon death, the pusher would no longer meet the physical qualification to matriculate and their conditional acceptance would be revoked!

Damn, I dodged a bullet on that one!😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

Most of the time they send the rejection letter after the interview season. Except a few years ago I did receive one from TCOM during the interview season.
