Rejections post-interview

Are these sent on a rolling basis as well? Or are only acceptances sent rolling and then a big thing of rejections sent at the end? I've only applied to two rolling schools, both of which I haven't heard back from, so am confused. I called one of them (Vandy) who said they sent me a response over break to my college address, but since I didn't get a phone call, I am assuming it is a rejection or waitlist.

I get the feeling that very few really do reject post-interview 'til the end. I think they want to keep all their options open. Plus their offices are very busy and why waste their time on people they aren't interested in?
