I *heart* you Taenia, I mean after all, who doesn't love a tapeworm?? 🙂
my home and school address are the same for me
Ditto.
has anyone's Interview Confirmation Status changed? Mine just changed today
to everyone being rejected from purdue...were you in-state or out of state?
Sorry to hear about CSU, guys...I'm out of state and haven't heard a thing. Any thoughts? You both are in-state, so do you think they're doing those first?
csu, in state, snail mail
here's for next year!
As i've said before, this isn't relevant to you because i'm english but still.
Oh well - it's really cold there anyway!!
"A total of 1,010 applications were received ... Your application was one of approximately 475 that were reviewed by committee members for consideration of an interview."
Wow... I dunno what they mean by "reviewed for consideration of an interview" but it suggests that half the applicants were basically rejected without anyone even reading their application. I wonder if that was just applying a GPA/GRE cutoff, or ditching people who didn't meet all the requirements. And if so, did that many people really just fail to pay attention to the numbers or decide to take a long shot? Or were they basically good, complete apps who didn't even get a chance to win them over with their personal statement? The more I think about the odds in this game, the scarier it gets.
Cornell, email/link, out of state 1/17
ha. i'm gonna go kill myself now.Purdue rejection, in-state, and I interviewed with them last year.
This after taking four of Purdue's first-year veterinary classes and excelling (veterinary neuro, principles of cell and tissue design I and II, and principles of pharmacology--but Purdue only looks at the core courses rather than current progress, although they will advise you to take upper level courses). This after having earned 10,588 hours of veterinary experience compared with the average applicant's 2,317 hours. This after attending multiple conferences and seminars on wildlife disease. This after pointing out in a personal meeting that they had mis-transcribed my GRE scores and GPA. To those of you rejected by Purdue, take heart--yes, the professors are kind and smart. The Admissions process is just head-inside-ass). I have a graduate degree, and I'm working on a dissertation, and I was still rejected, nonsensically, while students with two-three semesters of coursework under their belts have been accepted. Last semester, Purdue lost five veterinary students, which the school does not readily replace. Blah.
I'm interviewing at Western in three weeks.
