relative who is a doctor, connection for summer internship? help

I will be finishing my sophomore year and am looking for an internship or a research position that is clinically related. I have a relative who is a gastroenterologist and he wants me to explain what I want. Do you think just saying that i am looking for an internship or something clinically related will be enough?

Is your relative on the faculty of a medical school or affiliated with a hospital that has an affiliation with a medical school. Does your relative has connections to such folks?

Do you want to do translational research (bench work that has clinical implications) or something clinical that might involve interviewing subjects or administering questionnaires, doing data entry, maybe some chart abstraction to answer a specific clinical question. Do you have lab skills? statistical analysis skills? Are there specific skills you'd like to learn this summer?

I think that's the sort of thing this gastroenterologist wants to know from you?
