Hi guys, I have been doing research in Biochem with the Chem dept. at my university, and was wondering do all of my research grades count in the BCP GPA. When I sign up for the research credits, the course title is usually "CHEM 4400- Undergrad Research" or "CHEM 5100- Chemistry Special Problems" ????

I'm in a similar boat so hopefully somebody has a good answer. Mine show up as Bio 401. Anyone?

Ye-up, went a long way towards helping my sGPA. =) It goes under whatever department you took it as, so the OP, it would go towards you Bio GPA, above poster, Chem. Mine was Bio 199.

Yes, as long as it has some kind of science course prefix (phys, bio, chem, mbio, etc.) then it will count toward your science GPA. I took two semesters of biology research credit and it counted.

What??? My research credit doesn't even get a grade, all we get is a 'S' which means satisfactory or B and above.

Become best buddies with your PI and take AS MUCH of these graded research credits as your school will let you. I ended up with 12 graded credits of bio research at 4.0 (no way he actually had time to 'grade' my work), which is worth the same weight as 4 bio/microbio/biochem type classes. Once you add all those in, it's a huuuge boost.
