Residency Match

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
With only 417 positions, I am guessing a lot (I mean a LOT) of people wont get a residency spot in 2011 then??????
There's no way to say right now. It all depends on the attrition rate for that class and the how many residency spots open/close between now and then.

As it stands, the 2011 class was projected more than 100 spots short according to an APMA News I read last year.

Hey Feli thanks for the replies, any idea how many students there are in a year (1st year atleast, assuming no attrition)

MY knowledge:
SCPM ~100
OCPM ~100
NYCPM ~ 100
Barry ~ 40

Thats all I can think off, correct me If I am wrong.
Thanks again

I'm pretty sure you are wrong about Barry. I understood like high 60's - mid 70's students in the first year class. Also, I believe that OCPM is taking more students now since they moved to the new facilities.

Barry usually starts with 70-80. By graduation, it's usually somewhere from 40-60. Like any pod school, some drop out, some flunk out, some go to extended program, and some are picked up from extended program.

Attrition rate varies every year at every program, and that's a big reason why it's so hard to predict the number of residencies needed. Still, the pod programs that are increasing their incoming class sizes and exceeding their enrollment cap, especially if they have a low board pass rate, have no excuse.

i can attest that OCPM has around 100 students in the class of 2011 as of now
