So is it important which resume format you use in your MPH application--functional, chronological, etc.? A C.V. seems out of the question for me b/c, well, I don't have any awards, publications, or conferences to list. I've been using a one-page functional resume that I update as needed since I got out of college. Will this be acceptable for the MPH applications?

I used a one page chronological resume; I left out my mall jobs (I don't think MPH admissions care if you can fold clothes or count money =P), but I still wrote that I worked there during the certain time period, I just didn't keep the descriptions of what I did there. But overall my resume stayed almost exactly the same as the ones I was using to apply for jobs. SOPHAS and PH schools don't really mind either way.

thanks for the reply! I ended up re-doing my resume and modeling it after the sample resume on the Univ of Minnesota SPH career services website. It's 1.5 pages now. Hope this is gonna work . . .

I don't think it matters to have resume or CV as the schools usually list "resume or CV".

It's tough to get publications in the health science field coming out of undergrad unless you are extremely lucky. 🙂
