I took the GRE a couple of months ago and got a V 153, Q 151, AW 5.0. Right now, I'm in need of a little advice on whether I should retake it before I start applying for schools. I'll end up with a 3.46 GPA and a pre-req that will be around the same. I didn't do too much studying, so I feel like I might be capable of doing better, but if these scores will get me in, I'll save the money and use it for all the expenses of the application process. Any advice would be very helpful!

It's up to you, but I wouldn't retake it. You had a really good AW score, and the minimum recommended verbal and quantitative score seems to be 150 apiece for most schools.

You did really well on your analytical writing. But anyways, you may have already seen this website, but I would go here http://www.ets.org/s/gre/pdf/concordance_information.pdf
You can compare your new score to what it would be on the old scale as well as see where you rank among other test takers. It might be useful in deciding if you should retake it or not based on the ranking.

how many volunteering/shadowing hours do you have? Do you have any extracurricular activities?

I got V155 Q159 and AW 5.0 ... but my overall GPA is quiet low... it's sitting at 3.28 but one of the schools i'm applying to only looks at pre-req GPA when ranking applicants, and for that specific school my pre-req GPA is sitting at 3.68

I am retaking mine in October with hopes of getting a higher score to be more competitive... last time i studied for 2 months... this time i'm gonna try to study for 3 or 4 months

But you shouldn't worry about the money if it can improve your chances of getting in... that hundred or so dollars is irrelevant in the long run. i'm dirt poor, kinda living pay check to pay check in terms of paying for my bills (luckily, i live with mom and pop)... so if i can afford to pay for it, you probably can too. And if you didn't study and you did that well, just imagine how much better you will do if you spend a couple months preparing... your scores could jump to the 160s!!!
