hi i am retaking part 1 soon.
need some good suggestions from those who improved their scores.
my questions are...
1)best way to do questions?one should do it every day or doing in the end is enough?
2)how should one revise things in the end...esp kaplan review?
3)which area should be stressed more...solving questions or revising theory?

i suggest u do the tests after each subject, but belive me not that much from old tests, they come up with new qs every time, but try to study the subjects u did bad in the first attempt, and do both revise and qs, hope u good luck, i just improved 5 points between first and 2nd att.

I am also going to retake, lets motivate each other, and change our study patterns,
I am first going by general anatomy, then other subjetcs, but by scratch basics.

this time I decided go through first aid nbde. I took exam first time on december 29 and I passed with 79. Frankly speaking, the exam wasn't very hard. and I think If you know first aid nbde and deck you will be just fine. and released papers, just for checking yourself.

if u ask me i also have almost the same experience...exam was not hard....or may be it felt that way....welll when i got my score i got to know that it wasnt that easy aswell...ah...i ended up with 80.
so retaking now...alll the best to all of u taking and retaking the exam.

iam rewritin my exam in august,,i just did nbde 1st aid and decks +some of the asda papers only thats all i did,,felt that those were not enough to ace the exam,,they were enough to get u in low 80s..
hey viplilia do u really think those were enough !!!! i doubt it my friend ...because the paper that i got was wayyyyyy hard than the asda papers !!!

i also did the same last time......
this time i am adding kaplan too.....plz guys need your inputs on study material for RETAKE.
i think nbde kaplan covers all aspect of exam....but my only concern is how to revise it in the last days its huge...

my first attempt: score 81 materials: mosby, decks and kaplan Q bank

my 2nd attempt: score 87 materials: kaplan review notes, decks 09-10 and asda papers...i had got a lot of questions frm asda papers and i thought they wer very helpful

if you think it isnot enough go through first aid usmle, it is 100% enough. and the new 2009 dental decks very helpfull too. you just have to know everything from there without skipping any word. my mistake was that I skipped a lot. I'm telling again and again the exam wasn't very hard. donot panic.

well i have no idea about usmle first aid !!! never used it!
when i wrote my exam i did only nbde first aid +2010 decks and some of the asda papers ,,,passed the exam ..but form what ive sen that the material that i have WERE NOT ENOUGH,,,,because they are askin wayyyyyyyy beyond and deeper than decks and nbde first aid,, very few repeats maybe 3-4 percent ,, exam wasss very very tough !!! iam not tryin to scare u all there ,,but be well prepared before appearing....
good luck to all...anyway we can all do it nothin is impossible,,just need dedecation and then will to do it..

kaplan books for nbde is really important as it is the only book which covers all the course outline for nbde.
i did not do it last time but this time i am doing it aswelll.....no doubt it is a book in which all information is given but not hilighted the important facts,which makes it boring to read...but we have to read it anyway.for anatomy u can use some atlas with this book....it willl make things easy.
