Hey guys has any of you ever done this at your university? So a year ago I went through a really bad period (medical problem) and barely finished the spring 08 semester before this llness hit me really hard. At this time I was already signed up for fall 08 classes but because I was so bad, I ever atteded a class and never crossed my mins to drop these courses. Honesly, I didn't think about it, all I wanted was to get better and be back to
myself again.

For this reason that semester I received 2 Fs and 3 WUs, which are calculated into the gpa as Fs. So now I am trying to see of the university can retroactive those grades and just changed them into regular Ws, as this won't affect my GPA.

I will be writing a letter to this committe explaining the situation and presenting this letter with medical records showing I was under treatment during that period. My advisor will also write A letter to the committee supporting that I am a good student, bit because of a medical problem that situation arose.

I am pretty nervous because if they decline this I will be so screwed upthat I don't want to think about it.

Has any of you ever gone through something similar? What advice do you have to be successful in this petition? They tell ne this committee is
very strict so I'm pretty nervous...

I had to do this also a few years ago. I think the committee will be understanding if you had a genuine medical problem. If your school has a policy to grant retroactive withdrawals then they grant them sometimes. They are usually for medical issues, deaths in the family, extenuating circumstances etc. . . Just be honest and up front regarding the issue, and own your mistake for not dropping. It worked out well for me. Good luck.

You should do this as fast as possible, especially if it was a medical problem that required you to sit out. Were you in the hospital? If you were, give them the release forms and proof. I think you'll be good man, just make it happen.
