Hi guys! 😛

So I've started my studying madness for my DAT in sept and I'm about to start reviewing orgo before I dive into destroyer. I was jw, what fellow sdners would recommend me use to get a nice review for orgo? I searched around and remember reading that the Kaplan BB is insufficient even for an ochem reivew... Would I be better off with some other resource, or maybe just go through my own textbook?😕

I'm not sure if it is the best way to go, but for me personally, I found reading through my textbook (McMurry) and then following that up with reviewing the kaplan materials very helpful.

I think that if I had just used Kaplan by itself before diving into Destroyer, I wouldn't have been able to tackle the material as well. Kaplan alone isn't all that great because they really oversimplify the topics and concepts when they review everything. So unless you are really solid in orgo or fresh off taking the class, I wouldn't use the Kaplan book alone to prep.

Hope that helps a little.

All i used for orgo was Kaplan and Destroyer. Kaplan is good for concepts and Destroyer for all the reactions. Destroyer is a bit overkill, and the roadmaps are awesome and should be known at the very least. With kaplan, I used mainly for concepts which I thought were good. I got a 23 in orgo and my test was like half reaction / half concepts. I think orgo was the easiest of all sections though. I went through Kaplan and destroyer so much that I just knew the answers to all reactions / and most concepts. You'll get like 1-2 obscure questions and only thing you can do about those is try your best. Hope that helps.
