RFU Statistics Discrepancy

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
probably the MSAR since the site is more likely to be out of date.

If you compare the average accepted GPA and MCAT for RFU as stated on their website (http://www.rosalindfranklin.edu/Degreeprograms/AllopathicMedicine/Class.aspx) with that of MSAR, you'll notice that they don't match up. So, which source should one trust?

First, the MSAR uses median, not mean (aka average). Second, no where on that website does it say RFU is reporting the mean.

They are both probably accurate based on the info they have and the stats they are using.

As a student at RFUMS, I can attest to the fact that the website is RFUMS's biggest weakness. They're putting a lot of work into fixing it.

Insofar as stats are concerned, always trust MSAR; the data comes directly from AAMC. If there is a discrepancy, it is likely because the school uses data from the actual class while MSAR uses the data of all students who were accepted, not just those who matriculated.

Their website hasn't been updated in like 5 years. This place is really disorganized too. Their website and secondary apps are horrible. I also withdrew my application from them last year around December, and they just sent me a rejection last week. Their admissions office seems to be disorganized.

Isn't the website listing information for an actual class, and not accepted students? Or am I missing something?

Yeah it says on there 'Class of 2008' or something like that. The stats are significantly higher now.

Is the AAMC data higher or lower than what is reported on the website?

The website reports data for students that matriculated there (in 2008, or whatever year the website was last updated), whereas the MSAR reports data for accepted students. I never had a US News subscription, but I believe they have data on accepted students.

Haha and I didn't answer your question... averages/means of accepted students are usually higher than averages/means of students that matriculate.
