Call, so you can make an appointment to meet with them.
 
The uic thread blows so I'll just talk here.
I called for a status update today as i interviewed 3/22 and haven't heard a peep since. no email, letter, online updates, nothing.
I spoke w/ some lady who actually pseudo-knows what she's talking about (better than the reg fold admission staff who don't know jack) and she told me that as of now no action has been taken on my file. No acceptance, rejection, or wait-list. She 'hopes' to have something to tell me in 2-3 weeks. The committee will be meeting again, and then they will (hopfully?) make some type of decision.
I know some peeps got rejected already. So I guess this is a good thing? I haven't even sent a letter of intent there, so I'll send that early next week. Maybe it will help my app. Can't hurt.

Call and setup an appointment with the dean of admissions and/or the head of the admissions committee. Emails and letters are too easy to delete/discard.

I have always heard that UIC is extremely slow with applicants. From what it looks like, no news is good news in your situation. Hopefully UIC pulls through for you :luck:

Jccripe, I would encourage you to write a different P.S., even it is along the same lines. Especially if you are going to apply to the same schools. I heard admissons committees look at it as a lack of motivation if you use the same one.
 
I just finished my revised PS, changed some sentences and replaced a couple of paragraphs.

Anyone care for a read?

Hey guys Lolita called me today and offered a CMS acceptance to me, I was like F*** yeah. Good luck to all of you and I will stay active on this thread. I will be giving up my BMS spot. GOOD LUCK to the rest of you:luck::luck:

Finally someone on the normal end of the spectrum gets in, it seems like they had been taking really high stats before this. Hopefully the rest of us get the same 😍

Well, they have this really big hat, and in that hat they have all of our names...I think you get the drift 😛

Who knows what they want, but I will be staring at my phone for exactly 2 months (hopefully shorter...)....
 
I got a call from Morgandi this morning and she offered me a spot! I interviewed the last week of April and found out that I was waitlisted on this last Tuesday and then taken off the waitlist today (Thursday). This is right about when they were supposed to receive my spring grade update and a new letter of recommendation. This just goes to show you that it CAN happen so don't give up hope no matter what.

For those of you who are wondering my MCAT was 10, 10, 11, Q and my science gpa was 3.6 undergrad and 3.8 for my masters. I truly wish those of you who are waiting the best of luck and I hope to see you all in August.

Aight, Nick, I read it over. I just put out a few comments and suggestions. I could go over it once more and think of some more stuff to make it stronger, but the thing of it is is that you can ALWAYS find something to change. Is this just a revised version? It's already a strong PS.

I was thinking, would it be a good idea to talk about what you've learned about yourself in applying this year and not getting accepted? I was thinking about that myself for my PS. I'm not sure what to do about that.

Hopefully I was helpful.

To those of you who received a call from CMS Admissions, were you actually there to pick up the phone or did they just leave you a message? I'm not home a lot and I wonder if they will leave a message...IF I'm lucky enough to get offered a spot. Any ideas?

they left a voice mail, it said this is lolita calling you about a status change at the cms. I called back and they told me of my accpetance.

No, I have to teach at random locations. I live out in the burbs, and most places I teach at are pretty far, so I am stuck in traffic most of the day. I hate traffic!
