I am very excited to finally start medical school. but I am still hoping that RFU pulls through for me. b/c i'd rather go to RFU. in the mean time, i am trying to finish all the procedure for SGU.

At least you are getting your vaccinations in, if RFU calls you, you can avoid that hassle! I wish I had applied to SGU now..

If you are serious about it I think they would still accept apps for Jan

Yeah, they are still accepting for Jan. But, If the difference is between Jan. 08 vs Aug. 08 right now, I would rather wait till Aug 08 and hopefully earn an acceptance at one of the osteopathic schools I am applying to :luck:

Apply to US allo/osteo schools for Aug. 08 and apply to SGU for Aug 08 as well.

Sorry to interrupt everyone but I had to say it:
Congrats Guju!! As a reapplicant this year myself, I have been following this thread for a while, rooting for all of you guys, looking at the posts waiting for happy announcements like this. (There better be some more, you guys! 😉)

SGU is a great school, I have heard. A radiation oncologist at Dana Farber in Boston that went there years ago spent a long time talking to me about SGU last year when I was facing reapplication, and she just loved it, plus, she got a great residency here in Boston. I'm jealous in a way - I still hope to see that blue water in the carib some day....

Hopefully you WILL get in to RFU, but if not, no more applications for you!!!

Thanks Guju. Yeah, I will be applying to SGU/Osteo and a few other back ups as well. 😳
 
If you get in to other medical school, and you are waitlisted for another schools, do you know if the waitlist school, can check your AMCAS and know where you are holding a place (basically figure out, where the other school is)??

Congrats Guju and pretenda on the acceptances!!

I'm hoping to get an acceptance by my bday next week but that's probably just wishful thinking. I do have 2 interviews with Northwestern's med school for research positions on Friday and another next week at WashU for research patient coordinator so maybe I'll have a job offer.

I got into Indiana university so I have withdrawn my acceptance to RFU. I hope one of you gets the spot.
 
wow, congrats to everyone getting in to places.... I thought this thread was slowing down, but I was wrong. I'm getting ready for an SMP...
 
For RFUs secondary, it is the same essay as last year (as expected). This was probably the hardest essay to write of all secondaries? I am worried on how to change it up??? Does anyone have any input--completely new essay, revise a lil, same essay...
 
I'm just going to use my same one. Hey, it got me an interview the first time!

Just wanted to let the wait-listers know, I was pulled off the list 2 weeks ago and have finally decided not to attend CMS (I am going to CCOM/Midwestern, I actually want to be a DO). So, I hope this helps one of you out! The waiting is the hardest part (quoting Tom Petty probably reveals my age 🙂.

Good luck to everyone. It's definitely not over yet. On the bright side, RFU didn't overfill their class as certain other schools have done this year, so the list definitely can move until the start date and beyond. I'm on another waitlist where the potential is essentially nada, so RFU is basically my last hope. 🙁


On another note, I had the craziest RFU dream a couple of nights ago. Does anybody watch that show Ninja Warrior? I must be watching too much of it lately, because I dreamed that I was on it and competing for a spot at RFU...I got to the final stage where it was down to me and 3 others, and then I woke up. Of course! Man, I wanted to see if I would have made it. No wonderful acceptance dreams for me, just Ninja Warrior! 😴

Haven't you seen Lord of the Rings? There is always hope, unleast until Aug. 8th or so.

Wadup homies! I haven't talked in.....a LONG time. No update on my part. That's probably why I haven't posted. I've pretty much given up all hope on RFU and I continue to look for answers out there. I still, however, check here periodically and find out how everyone is doing.

I just got the rejection letter. The gist is that the class is full and they cannot offer me a spot. This may be because I was low on the unranked wiatlist or because they are done with admissions.

I'm going to go to Toastmasters and prepare for next year.

Sorry about the bad news Doctor Nick. Hopefully next year is your year. I haven't received a rejection letter yet but I will probably receive it in August.
