Roseman University College of Pharmacy - Class of 2022 Interview/Acceptance

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My CV is extremely sad I've been going to school for like 13 years and I've worked for the same company since 2005 I guess you could say I'm not a "restless" person

Same! I started school in 2008 (I went consistently for the past 2 years). Im just worried about my CV being sad and not getting a residency. Ill be more optimistic though.

Hi Everyone!

I got a email from Roseman on Monday after my app was verified by PharmCAS, that they are reviewing my app and I wanted to ask approximately how long did it take to hear back from them. I was planning to apply for ED for Fall 2020 but when I visited the Henderson campus about two weeks ago, the admission specialist said I should apply for Fall 2019, which I did.

I have average (2.8) GPA
PCAT:81 taken 4/3/19
BS in biochem and I have taken Biochemistry and Molecular Bio which i believe is recommended but not required. Got bachelors in 2018
I worked as a pharm intern for 2.5 yrs, have my pharm tech license, and did research for 4 years.

Based on stats, do you guys think I have a chance at a interview? I was honestly surprised when the admissions specialist told me to apply since it is already the end of April.
Thanks!

This is a great, underutilized feature. Kudos for recommending it.

Anyway I just wanted to drop by and remind people to keep it professional. Thanks!
Yeah, I should have just blocked our troll earlier, lol. Thanks for posting this, I didn't even bother to check until now that I could. :)

I'm surprised they're still accepting students, but I think you have a great chance at getting an interview. Your experience is really going to help you! I'll be attending the Henderson campus in the fall!

Ya those stats seem pretty good. How have you been a pharmacist intern, though?

For those of you moving to Henderson from out-of-state, how early are you guys planning on moving?

Thank you! I was just nervous because I was told to apply because the deadline is soon and I thought most of the spots would be filled already

I was surprised the admission specialist told me to apply and that they are still accepting students! Oh thank you! I was just worried mostly because of my gpa so i was hoping my experience will help me! I hope get a interview and be able to attend the Henderson campus!

Thats awesome! Congratulations!! :D

Thank you! My gpa is basically what is worrying me. I worked under a pharmacist at a private pharmacy before I got my technician license. I managed inventory, spoke to insurance companies and dispensed medicine under pharmacist supervision.

I will be going there by mid July to look for an apartment, but I will move in early August because I have an infant and a toddler.

Ok that’s kind of the time line I was looking at too. An infant and a toddler, and pharmacy school? I give you credit!!

I’m planning on moving into a place on August 1. I think that’ll be adequate time to get acclimated before orientation and our white coat ceremony (which I am so excited about ).
I would like to go visit the places I’m interested in around early July, though.

Please, since you will move in soon, give us info about the cost of leaving, housing, etc.
I will like to live 5-10 mins away from the campus.

I think the tour and information I got during the interview will cover me. I think it is probably more for people that they haven't hooked yet.

That's pretty much the same timeline I'm looking at. Most of the places I've looked at online that are close to campus have been running about $1k/month rent for a 1 bedroom.

True! Except I've never been to the Henderson campus. I interviewed in Utah

I wouldn’t buy the plane ticket or take time off unless you’re wanting to go to Vegas anyways. The campus isn’t anything to write home about and Henderson is just a regular city. ‍♀️
I’m really looking forward to attending Roseman but I will say the campus underwhelmed me.

Really? I was pretty impressed by the south Jordan campus. I thought the campus kind of small but nice. But maybe it's because our campuses here are like shacks I will most likely not be going though, flights are too expensive.

Lol. The Utah campus is way prettier from what I can see in pictures.

I SWEAR TO YOU its not much to see. The “tour” was like 5 seconds.

Lol I believe you. I'll just wait for orientation or maybe I'll email and ask if I can get a mini tour when I'm there in July to look for housing.

Lol I went to check out photos of the Henderson campus. The actual buildings look quite similar but the surrounding areas of the SJ campus are much more picturesque. But that doesn't bother me too much because I'll be too busy studying to enjoy any scenery

They havent posted a new academic calendar but going off of last year it seems to be the end of orientation week. Is this like a ceremony family and friends should go to? I downplay everything so i dont understand a ceremony to get our coats.

Yes all your loved ones should definitely attend! You’ve worked to hard to earn that white coat. It takes blood, sweat and tears. Don’t downplay that!

I understand. It will be super short notice since they havent posted the schedule. Let me go back through my emails to see if theres a date.

I looked through my emails and all I found was orientation week begins Aug 19th and the information about the white coat ceremony will be emailed after Aug 1st. But if its the same as last year it will be at the end of the week.

I'm in the same boat as you. I don't think I'll say anything to my parents, but I might let my wife know. I know we have worked hard to get to this point, but I seriously only see it as the halfway point. I have a hard time celebrating the halfway point.

I'm hyped to get everything started. I'm hyped to meet everyone, and get to know the people that we will always reach out to when we need advice. I'm hyped for all that.

Hi all, please do we need to send our official transcript to Roseman? I completed all coursework before my admission.

If this last semester you finished your last prereqs...then yes you have to send another transcript. I think you do it on PharmCAS
