Title says it all. I'm probably being WAY too hard on myself. I was very well prepared for the interview. My school provides mock interviews (I'm in an SMP), and they told me afterward that mine was one of the best mocks they've ever had.

Today, I feel like I blew YEARS of work on my confidence, presentation, and academic record on the interview. I was very nervous at the beginning, and although I answered the questions well, for the first 1-2 minutes of the interview my voice was noticeably shaky. I didn't stumble, I didn't pause, but I was shaky/somewhat rambly.

I finished strong. The interviewer mentioned something about someone like me "being needed to help reform healthcare" (not sure if he meant that as a direct compliment or not), and then at the conclusion of the interview he said "it was a pleasure."

Please give input if you have any. Thank you 🙂

Sounds like you did fine. Everyone sitting on the other end of the table interviewing you knows how it was for them.

Honestly when I interview a cocky snobby know it all, it rubs me the wrong way.

You showed that you are human. We need Osteopathic doctors who are human.

Have faith and I’m sure you did great!!!

It sounds like you did well. Interviewers know that most applicants are nervous when they enter the room. I wouldn't harp on the interview too much and as propositionjoee said you made it pretty far into the process and your chances are good.

Being nervous does not mean you did poorly. They expect you to sound nervous. You sounded like you maintained your composure and are self-aware enough to understand that you were nervous. I’m sure you did fine!

I had to stop to take a deep breath during one interview, and my voice was shaky, was still accepted. You sound like you did fine

This process is so mercurial. I stopped trying to guess if my interview went well or poorly after one where at the end, my second interviewer told me he shouldn't be saying this but that I was getting in. A few months later hit with the wait-list decision.

This would be the most disheartening thing ever. I hope you were eventually accepted somewhere.

Edit: Just read your signature. Congrats!

Out of all the interviews I had, the one that I thought was the worst ended up being my only acceptance this far, the rest are WLs. Its too hard to analyze an interview

Thanks, I am just glad I have the one acceptance! At the time it felt pretty bad.

I'm sure you did fine OP. Everyone is nervous on the interviews.

Had a terrible MMI as well where I felt I barely answered the question. We only got 5 minutes for each question. My 1:1 interviewer at the end of it all also seemed incredibly disinterested in me the entire time I was talking and I went on a short tangent. Result: accepted

Being nervous is not a big deal to interviewers. They know what it means to you. As long as you were able to include information about yourself and didn’t deflect, you probably did just fine.

What's done is done. If you have any more interviews, look to them.
